Sal Butera - New Pool Room??

Update:

I went to the pool room last night for the first time to check it out and spar with Sal for a bit.

The room is real nice and spacious!

6-Diamond Bar boxes and 4-Diamond 9-Footers. Nice Aramith Balls. Cool bar with beer on tap and the bottled stuff. Nacho's, Hot Dogs, and the like for food fare. Real nice decor too with a bunch of awesome limited sports prints on walls and such. LAKERS!

It seems to cater to a real good crowd. Not many bangers at all. Mostly league players, and lotsa cute girls

Sal handed my ass to me as he's playing all the time now :frown:

I wish this room were closer to home for me - it's 50 miles away - as I'd hang out there. Great sparring with Sal for sure! I will return soon enough to redeem myself!

P.S. I took pics with my phone, but need to buy Moto Tools 5.0 to get them on the 'puter. If anyone has a copy of that software to float me, I'll post them right quick.

P.S. They had a 10 ball tourny on the 28th of Dec with $50 entry and it was won by yours truly. This is a very fine room with high quality tables. It's a little far for me and I wish there was a room like this close to me.

Nice!

Sal needs a scorekeeper system (on each table), perhaps you might be able to help him out with that?

Sounds like a nice place even with the Lakers stuff.Go Celtics!

Do they have the Diamond lights over the tables?

Looks like a nice room. Next time I am there working I will drop by.

Keep hearing rumors about a Diamond tabled room in my area but nothing yet. Last I heard they finally received their permits.

Not sure how much of a players room it will be though. Also heard it was
an all 8foot table room.

"National Championship Series Announced by CueSports International, LLC

CueSports International, LLC (CSI), the parent company of the BCA Pool League (www.playbca.com), the United States Bar Table Championships (USBTC) and the Jay Swanson Memorial Tournament, would like to announce the National Championship Series (NCS). The NCS will be a series of five national events in the following cue sport disciplines: 8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, 14.1Continuous and One Pocket.

The first NCS event will be the 8-Ball Division. For players to participate in the 8-Ball Division they must be either a U.S. resident or possess a U.S. passport. The winner will receive all paid expenses to the prestigious World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) 2009 World 8-Ball Championship. Last year?s world event was held in Fujairah, UAE. The 2009 event is anticipated to be held in mid-April.

The following information applies to all five NCS events. Qualifier tournaments will be held at billiard rooms throughout the United States. All NCS events will be open to men and women - both amateurs and professionals. Players are not required to be a member of any national league or association. In the initial years of the NCS, everyone must qualify - there will not be any invited players.

Mark Griffin, CEO of CSI expressed the need for a more formalized national championship system, ?The U.S. is one of the few countries that does not conduct national championships. CSI saw the possibility of creating opportunities for pool players while offering national exposure for the billiards industry. This structure will determine for the first time a true national champion in all five disciplines.?

More information will be released in the next few weeks. Room owners with any questions, interest in hosting a qualifier in your state or region, or in hosting the national event, please contact Holly Ryan at holly@cuesportsintl.com or at 702-719-7665.

CueSports International, LLC, goal is to create and improve opportunities for pool players of all abilities through fair governance and equitable policies.

Thanks for the info Sunny! I spent a lot of time looking through that site and didn't find that information. Still can't :)

Do you happen to know if it's big table or bar table?

Thanks!
~rc

Corey...I know it's been gone a long time, but did Cuetopia move? It was in a shopping center at Twain & Swenson, when Fred and Mary had it. Pool Sharks is far away (on the other side of I-15), off of Spring Mountain.

Hi, rc. Go to the web site and there are several tabs on top. Place your cursor over a tab such as "events" or "news" - selections of menu will drop down and just click on what you want to read about;)

I am pretty sure all the qualifier is held on 9 ft table since the world championship is on 9 ft as well. There are about 11 NCS qualifiers going on all over US this weekend. You can see more discussion about it on the "Tournament" section of AZ Forum.

Hope you get a chance to check it out. It is absolutely wonderful opportunity for the winner. Being able to compete in the world stage representing America is an honor itself but to have the expenses covered all the way and some money to party or shop? (Winner gets $6000.00 to cover the expenses) Are you kidding me???:happydance:

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend.
