Sales / Wanted rules Update

Russ, no difference.

I thought I was clear.

If you need to go to the website to make the purchase, it goes with eBay links.

No generic "here's a link to my site" sales.

Dave

You were clear. I think where people got confused as because I was the one tossing the tantrum, for some reason they assumed that it only applied to the manner in which I was doing it.

I saw plenty of posts saying eBay links were OK under this or that circumstance, and I'm sure the intent of your rule was as stated, not as interpreted to fit one or another's need or use. I'm imagining Cornerstones' "New Cues On My Site" posts are now banned, as well as cfrandy's "here's an eBay auction but I'll end it for AZ" regardless of what Nick says.

Sounds like the raffle section will now be the spot to post off site links for sales. I've posted some stuff there and gotten a little traffic, so thanks again for the responsiveness.

Thanks

Kevin

That Was A Great One-Liner

I had to return back to this topic just to post that was a great one-liner by Ken4Fun......I musta chuckled for 30 secs...I'm still laughing about it....are there any rules about misleading titles....where are the heck are the Szambo or Bushka cues in this posting....homerun on that one liner Ken.

This thread has stirred up quite the batch of ideas, and for good reason. The flow of ideas back and forth is always a good thing.

But, I would like to sincerely thank the mods for all that they do. I can imagine that their job is extensive and time consuming, and very stressful at times. It is great to see that ideas have been taken into consideration. I truly do not envy the mods at all. So, again, thank you guys very much. Your hard work and time are very much appreciated.

I just became a club member on AzB because I intend to sell cues here. However, unless you have a high-end handmade cue, the W/FS forum is pretty much useless. The only sites that you can move anything less than $500 aren't here.

I would suggest a forum for production cues, and one for handmades. As a business person, I can't justify continuing a membership for a site that I have little to no hope of moving anything on.

It's nice to have a site to look at cues that 95% of the public can't afford, I'm just not sure it's worth paying for. AzB might be better served to do away with the W/FS forum altogether. Just my $.02.

If you do not have anything more to offer than selling stuff here, this may not be the place for you... Just my $.02.

Most of what I sell is less than $500. I see people selling production cues and "custom" production cues for less than $500 all the time.

I'd suggest putting some cues up and see how they do. People are here certainly looking for deals and steals so it's not like they are going to jump on every cue advertised at the same street price they can get everywhere else. Same thing as Craigslist, if it's a bargain it will be in demand. If it's not a bargain then people won't generally be interested unless it's some kind of hard-to-get item that's in demand.

The club member thing just helps to keep the lights on. We who do a lot of sales sort of gently nudge people who are active commercial sellers to ante up and buy a club membership. But no one who sells occasionally is ever hassled about it to my knowledge. It's not a requirement (yet) to buy a club membership in order to place ads.
