Sandbaggers and how do u beat them?

yeah... Im not whining... im just need another plan of attack... and because I never really had much opponents who played me in such a manner, I had nothing to go on... Thus I went on this forum... and got great insight.

In other words, against teams that are absolute bottom of the list and losing to them will not make a difference in standing...loose.

You can still play full speed when you are playing a top team. Coming in first in the league means you really dont understand the system.

The goal is to win enough games to reach the playoffs.

Means to an end.

I would have to agree. Sure most players don't like APA... but for someone like me who works two jobs and can't have time to do tourney's and being only a SL5... it would be purty challening... FUN for me personally, but definitely challening to play in real tourneys/gambling.

I like the comradarie with the APA, if I had more time, I would attempt at a BCA league and more.... I've had more fun and had learned great things by playing in the APA. Sure, I can't give an answer on if I could be a better player without the APA, but I surely being playing alone a lot if I didn't.
 
Out sand bag them. I've taken to noticing where the balls are and If I don't like them, I'll move them around and then leave my opponent no shot.

just cuz you southern boys no nothing of playing in single digit windchills doesn't mean we don't!! Golf pass is good from March 1st - Dec. 31st. There are other courses open in Jan. and Feb. (just not included in my pass), and they are PACKED whenever there's no snow, and it's above freezing (yep, frozen ground, ponds, and all - takes waterhazards outta play). Hardcore baby!! :p

that's also why we can go near our waterhazards to play or fetch a ball - gators dislike ICE. :thumbup:

IN APA the score sheets do not have to match in terms of the number of defensive shots. So have your score keeper mark that player and those like him for every shot they make where the scorekeeper doens't feel the players intent was to pocket the ball. Defensive shots in the APA are not defined as true safteys but rather any shot where the player did not intend to make a ball and that determination is made by the score keeper not the shooter.

So mark those defensive shots.

I used to knock the 8 ball in on purpose. When they asked me what I was doing, I would say: "get a life".
 
I have never played APA before so I don't know what the rules are but is it not legal to play safe?

Tiger, your dilemma is very simple Don't miss, and if you have no shot take your time play as safe as you possible can. You should only focus upon your game, not the table or your opponent, by truly understanding this you will be empowered and not like a reed in the wind.

Just don't play in the APA league, and you don't have to deal with the garbage.

Sandbaggers who play league and cheat so that they can "go to Vegas" are by far, the biggest bunch of sissies that exist in the pool world.
The way the system is set up, almost guarantees that sandbaggers will continue to flourish, and that they will prosper.

Just set your goals higher, and DISS the APA altogether.
That last thing i would ever want to do is hang out with a bunch of guys who get their jollies cause they stole a session and didn't get caught, and that gets them closer to their "Vegas" dream.

I'm sorry, but i cannot support any group or organization, where some team goes absolutely ape$#!T just because their guy made a straight in 6 inch putt.
Guys who flip out over something like that "YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! NICE SHOT MAN, GREAT SHOT!!!!!!!! AWESOME SHOT!!!"are IMO the biggest bunch of sissies on the planet.

There were may adult beverages involved....and that is the case for 90% of the APA players. It really isn't about pool. It is about getting out, drinking, and being part of something. But too many adult beverages can make a-ho's out of the best of us. Every time I see that behavior I just accept it that it is a person that has no idea.

But if it's about that and not about Vegas, why the sandbagging then?
I'm POSITIVE that the % for sandbagging is not limited to 10%.

If they are sandbagging in the APA, it IS about pool and they are sissies whether they are drunk or not.
