Can't seem to find much info on this style, have chance to pick one up for under a thousand great shape only one shaft, opinions? Satin style is plain jane no points.

Thats about what they go for. Not a steal but not going to get hurt either.

I think its a good deal. The value of Southwest cues will only go up in the future.

I've had and sold several. If it's straight and your SURE it's a SW then it's a good buy. Just before the cue market dropped they were often, maybe usually, selliing for around $1500.

What's the difference between these and the high end ones. I understand about the points & rings. Are these made differently ?

from what i understand the satin series was released because the regular cues were (and still are) in such demand. they were able to finish the cues much quicker than the other high end models. in order to appease the growing market they came out with "plain, no point, satin wrap" cues. i have one that was made in 2001 and i think it hits just as good if not better than some of the other southwests that i've hit. the only bad thing, as mentioned in an earlier post, is that they only come with one shaft. if you could get one for under 1000 i would suggest getting it.

If you're sure the cue is authentic, go for it. If I'm not mistaken, those cues don't have the cactus logo on the pin and would be very easy to
counterfiet. Enjoy

They are pretty easy to spot if you know what you're looking for.... also 99% of cues made don't have a parabolic taper..

Thanks for all the great input guys, no doubt it's a Southwest will definitely jump on it. If nothing else beats a savings account.
