You are right on the money with your statements. The APB seems to have no clue at all with what they are doing. It actually seems comical, they are acting like they are dealing with billionaire promoters. They have to know that the gate depends alot on the $ being paid in a timely fashion. With the stupidity of how they are approaching this how many spectators want to spend their time and money to see disgruntled players.I read a statement from them that says they need to protect the future for the up and coming stars.I would like to be the 1st. to tell them the future is NOW! Unless another Hustler/Color of Money film comes out the future is dim. APB , BUILD on what you HAVE, do not try to rip it apart there may be no tomorrow and quit reading the sports pages you are not in the NFL.In addition to the money in escrow, the ABP wants their members seeded to give them a better chance at winning a share of that prize money.
If there was a lot of money in pool, the money in escrow would not be a problem. However, we all know there is no money in pool. Promoters, including Barry, need the gate money and entry fees to pay prizes. They do not have the money laying around to put in escrow.
The players should be getting together to help promoters, not threatening them with boycotts.
If the ABP thinks it is so easy to promote an event and raise the prize money for an escrow account, why aren't they doing it themselves? No, they rather sit back and make a lot of demands and threaten promoters.
if he wants the players he will have to play by the rules they set.
You are right it is BB's show, and BB doesn't have a show without players, he just provides the set.
Saying one group has more power over the other is an argument that accomplishes nothing. The groups should work cooperatively.
ABP chose to put players together, while Barry uses a technique to divide and conquer them. Both the choices illustrate their distinctive styles of management.
Though the ABP does have the advantage of knowing all of Barry's excuses and how he talks about changing frequently. While Barry hasn't dealt with a boycott, unless the WPBA "girlcott" counts.
Why did they not play prior to 2010 in Barry's events?
X2, hear, hearI am curious though, what happens to a player who plays? Does he get thrown out of the organization, beat up, sanctioned? I doubt they even have the power to control their own players much less a guy like Barry. I see the players jumping ship if this is not resolved and playing anyway? This organization will go the way of all the others and be yesterdays news. They have bitten off more then they can chew.
Truth is, most of the players on the list don't matter to the fans. There are a few superstars who people really would like to see but the rest are "who cares" they can't even win the tournament anyway and are not really a draw. Who really cares if they play or not. They don't have the bargaining power they think they do. They can stay home and new stars will emerge to take their places that's the choice. I think he also should cut out the free entries for past champions.

But instead he chose to be their friend and try to workout a deal. He should've let them know who is boss up front, but he is trying to work both angles, trying to keep his vendors happy.
