A lot of the pros lurk on this forum. Most of them refrain from posting because of the idiots that find it necessary to be rude and disresepctful anonymously. Its not about ego, its just not worth the hassle for them.
Danny is a pool player. He is one of the very best in the world at what he does. He just proved that at the Action Challenge All Around. I wish him continued success in life and in pool. He may ot be posting here anymore, but the world of pool has not heard the last from Danny Harriman. IMO, he is the best all around player in the world.
Something about Danny I will never forget.
In 1991 we were at a toutnament in Lincoln Neb. It was late one Friday so Danny two other guys and myself decide to get some breakfast.
We foun a little diner and were seated in a booth with Danny seated on the inside beside me. The waitress was running around madly and dealing with the bar crowd and drunks when a fella pattd her on the butt. It stratled her and as she jumped, she lost her balance and dropped a huge tray of dirty dishes. They crashed to the floor and shattered making a horrible racket.
In one quick move, Danny fles out the back of the booth and kind of half over me and began helping the waitress pick up and clean up the mess. He even went into the back and grabbed a mop and mopped the floor.
Once he was done, the waitress came over and thanked Danny and he apologized to her for what the fella had done and told her that she didn't desreve that.
As we were getting ready to leave, Danny walked back to our booth and left the young waitress a $20 bill for a tip and then walked over to the fella. At that point I was very curious and got closer to hear what was said and afraid there might be a problem.
The fella turned, looked at Danny and slurred, " Now I guess you are gonna tell me she is your sister, Right"?
Danny looked him straight in the eye and stated," No sir, but she is somebody's daughter and doesn't desrve that"!
The drunk just sort of stared at Danny for a second, and said, " You are right and I'll try and make it right".
That made a lasting impression on me and I'll never forget it. FWIW!
