Thanks for all the kind words everyone but this is last years (2013) thread. Somehow it got bumped but I do wish I still had the Kikel!

I picked up a few new toys at the SBE this weekend. Sorry for the quick and dirty photos but I'm wiped out from being on my feet all weekend. :embarrassed2:

Let me know what you guys think.

The first is a beautiful BEM into Ebony Kikel. Words or photos cannot accurately depict how beautiful this cue is. I know it's said often, but it really has to be seen to be appreciated. It's simple and elegant and was an absolute show stopper. Every time I took it out of the case to show someone, a crown gathered.
It has the most amazing black lip mother of pearl inlays in the buttsleeve and the points, and the Ivory joint and Hoppe ring complete the package. It came with a nice smooth black leather wrap but it wasn't comfortable in my hands so a premium elephant was expertly installed today by Paul Drexler.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to John Vero (AKA Johncue54) for the great deal on the Kikel. John is a fantastic person and a great trader to do business with. Thanks John!

The other cue I picked up is a stunning Ed Prewitt fullsplice wrapless. It has a highly figured Cocobolo handle into curly BEM with Ed's fancy rings, Ivory joint and Hoppe ring.

Super cues my friend...

I love that Kikel let me know if you want to get rid of it.. Ziggy:grin:

Ed's cues play great and no one makes a FS as good as him. Look how long the points are, are any longer??.

The cues look sweet and they look like they're super great players but I'm even more intrigued by the pictures....you mean those were taken with your phone?? iPhone? I'm sure strobes were used but by using the camera on your phone and still achieving those quality of picture is outstanding!

Thank you for the kind words everyone?

Sorry Zigg, the Kikel is my new player for the foreseeable future. The Prewitt........ That might be available for sale. ;)

Sorry Jive, they weren't taken with my phone. I used my back up DSLR, a Nikon D300s. I just didn't take the time to set up all the lights. I just used one SB900 on camera with a diffuser and bounced off the ceiling.

Thank you Chris. I enjoyed our conversations as well.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to pick up these two cues. The Kikel is absolutely amazing. It plays and looks phenomenal.

BTW, your Murrell is spectacular!

Thank you Jimmy. I was nice to meet you as well.

2 great cues you picked up Tom!

Is the Kikel new? Dave is in semi-retirement and not making many cues these days. His work is fantastic and his cues play even better. That is one fine Kikel Sir!

Thank you Jamie. Yes the Kikel is new. It was finished in April of last year but has been stored since then.

And I agree, Dave's work is fantastic. I've owned a few in the past and wish that I had kept them.
