I know the prize fund is lower for the Pro event this yr and many top pro's are not attending , there is always complaints that Allan keeps to much ,
So at the end of the day what do you think Allan walks away with

$293billion. Cash.

IMHO Allan & team earn every penny, I look forward to
this every year. I think this is my 18 or 19 year attending
this great event!!!! :D

:scratchhead:

So top professional players don't want to go to Allen's tournament and the U.S. Open?

I'd say they are getting lazy and should find a different profession.

Here all this time I thought there wasn't enough professional tournaments.

My favorite event by far a friend of mine who complains about the payouts says he has to make about 250 k I don't know about that

Wow

I did not go to the show last year but I was there the year before. I'm a smoker and was always out side in the smoking area. I met up with one of Allens employees who was always out there smoking also, We talk a lot as we where always both out there at the same time. He told me that Allen walks away with over $400,000. after all is said and done, I really dont care if he makes 10 times that, Allen is a great guy a good friend and he works really hard as also does his team. I don't see any one else stepping up to put on a show like this. If the pro's want to piss and moan and not show up who cares. Most of them are spoiled babys any way.

Frankly, I don't care. Hope he makes a million off the event. Really want to see it go on well into the future. One of the best events period! Why do some people have to question every aspect of every event? If he is making too much, start one of your own!

If your boss told you he was cutting your pay in half tomorrow, would you go to work?

:sorry:

Sorry...I don't work and I don't have a boss.

Actually, I would work for free for something to do instead of wasting my days on the computer.

LOL...I do have pool cues for sale and cats are free though.

1 billion dollars easily.

All I know is that win or lose I have a blast. The last few years I win and it is like taking candy from a baby. Winning is everything.

He has to start preparing for this event the day after last years event ended. That's a lot of damn work! I hope he makes a ton of cash!

It was always my impression that SBE had higher percentage of payouts from income generated of most high-end tournaments. Alan makes money from his model, with all the vendors, the gate, the mini-tournaments, etc. Good for him. Unless I'm mistaken, the winners appear to walk away with cash instead of looking in the mailbox over the next year, his employees get paid and there's no converstation about IF the tournament will occur next year...IMHO SBE is one of the better run events and a force for good in the pool world, if a true pro tour ever gets generated, it will surely make the cut as a tour stop.

I can't see him walking away with 400 k. I don't care if he makes 10 mil either I just found it hard to believe he cut the Pro event down that much if he is making that kind if profit.
Either way for a amateur it's by far the best event and I hope it goes in for yrs
