Schick Cue: Burton Spain Tribute Fullsplice

This is the finest post on a cue in many of years

This has gotta be the finest post and tribute on a cue here in AZ in years if not ever. Will not only are you lucky and very fortunate enough to own this cue, it's a privlage for you to share it with us! THANK YOU!!

The mere fact that such a cue came about from Burton and then finished/tributed to the world by his very good friend as well as a well respected and top tier cue maker,Bill is just amazing!!!!!!!

Then Joel who was a very good friend of Burton chimes in as it had to be special to him as well, and then John Showman who is amazing in his own cues ....It's just amazing!!!!


This thread is a happy moment for all real cue fans period who really appreciate cues ,you know who you are.

Thanks to all involved this made my day and probably many more after :)

Bill Shick's tribute to Burton Spain is timeless....

The first real cue I held I'm in my hands was a "Spain" cue, that was 20+ years ago, I know the feeling when picking up a Spain cue.

It's great to see Burton Spain lives on!

You have a very special cue.

NOW there is a great combo, you and that cue.

So many features in that cue. I can't think of another standard full splice build I've seen that is wrapless, showing the work, and Burton's work at that.

I really enjoyed that cue at the show, and Schick remembering Spain was completely touching.

How could you get more special than a collaboration between two legends like Spain and Schick.

I was lucky enough to see this cue at this year's DCC.

Nice to see this piece of cue history go to live among it's brother's and sisters where it will be well cared for . Everyone involved deserves a high -five.

So, digging for a little more info. Did Bill obtain the blank from Burton, or did you have it and hand it to Bill to convert, or something in between? Just curious. I know there has to be a few old unfinished blanks floating around out there. Would kind of be neat to find out how many. That is awesome. Sounds like it needs a special case!
 
Ohhhh Schick

There is something about Bill Schick's cues that always catch my eye. This one is right up there with some of my favorite cues that Bill has made. Very well executed and honoring.
 
Thanks to all my friends who have posted comments about this unique cue.

I would prefer to post a thank-you to each of you individually, but for the past many days I
have been significantly under the weather....proof that flu shots only work some of the time.....
and just as I am starting to be on the mend, my wife decides that she wants to try to be even sicker than me!
So please know that I appreciate the comments each of you has made.

The cue is indeed special and its looks are only trumped by its playability.

Bill makes some of the most beautiful cues ever but you now own my favorite he has ever made. I am sure it will be treasured for a very long time!
