Schmelke Cues

I was looking for a USA made cue and was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Schmelke cues. If so what are your thoughts and what kind of shaft did you have on it?

great cues. still have a 30 year old schmelke from my father. had a j/b last year and was very impressed with it.

If you don't care about points or fancy inlays, but just want a great playing cue for your money, their M-Series (I recommend the 3/8 x 10 joint) is hard to beat. You get an outstanding butt, with lots of feel, and a very nice shaft. If you decide to upgrade to an LD, or other aftermarket shaft, in the future, the butt makes a great foundation, and will clearly show you the subtleties of different shafts.

Their standard shaft has a 10-12" pro taper. You can also get an extended pro taper (12-15") for $20 extra.

There are lots of options to customize the cue to your liking on their site. If you call them, they'll basically custom make what you want, without breaking the bank.

I've bought the M-Series in rosewood and shedua, along with a bocote/purpleheart full splice, and a kingwood/BEM pj from them so far. I'm currently waiting on a solid purpleheart butt with a G-10 pin, and purpleheart shaft. In all cases, I have been very pleased with their product and customer service.
