Who won the 9-ball tonight. Last I saw Scott was up two sets to zero.

Thanks in advance.

So Scott won the Final nite. How did the money break down. Did Darren win just $2500 or did he win the whole $7500? Can someone break it down?

They insist on saying that each night is for $5000, and I suppose that's good promotion, but in fact each player put up $2500. So if you win 2 disciplines you win $2500. That ain't chump change ;) ...Tom

Actually..... it kinda is considering all that these players have put in to be at this level.

I am sure Darren is happy to have won something but then it has to be cut up with the backer and expenses then $2500 doesn't really go far does it.

The reason that they say $5000 is that it's billed as a 2 man "tournament" with $2500 Entry Fee - 1st place paid only.

That way it's not "gambling". Although I think it's legal in just about every state for people to wager against each other in games of skill. I am probably quite wrong about that though.

I remain unimpressed by the amounts played for. Totally impressed by the skill displayed and the heart displayed. I have seen bigger action amongst amateurs though so the money isn't really doing anything for me.

Let's see Fatboy and Jay put up $100,000 and get a Filipino or Taiwanese contingent to put up their player and their end and then I will be impressed with both the money and the game.

Yeah, Yeah I know $2500 for three days of "pool" is great money and more than most people make and we could feed a small African nation for a week on it and so on. But the truth is that $2500 or even $10,000 just isn't much considering where these guys are with their skills. And it certainly won't get them much further down the road.

Anyway, whatever - I hope that the 2 man tournaments start having larger prize funds. For the player's and the fan's sake.

Still highly impressed at what the Action Report is doing.

I kinda really miss the podcasts though. :-( Those were cool and I had them all on my MP4 player. I wish that they would do more of those in addition to the video ones.
