I have been wondering if I should do this thread for a couple days now.

Most know what Tim went through in the last couple years.( the word HELL comes to mind)A while back Tim called and ask me to buy his personal cue collection. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=201024

I was now asked to come down and clean up all that was left. of the TS cues.Thursday I went down and spent the day with Tim. For all those concerned, Tim is doing great.He has some great story's,I am amazed of all the people he has known and never hesitates for a moment remembering a name.

Anyway here is a glimpse of the the very last cues from Tim.

After Lunch we drove over to JOSS cues to see Dan.
First let me say that it a very impressive shop.I built my own Metal Fabrication facility from the ground up so I can appreciate ingenuity,knowlege and quality that I found at his shop.

But what surprised me was walking into the conference room and I saw what I been looking for and gave up.The wood rack holding all the rest of blanks Mike Cochran built.(Talk About Happy)

Danny was going to Finnish them but it was going to be very time consuming because he would have to do them himself and he does not have enough time to do his own custom cues and run his business let alone these which would require different tooling and Technic's from his cues. Thanks Danny for afternoon visit.

My plans at the moment are 3 of these blanks will be finished by Danny Janes, Cory Barnhart, and Mike Webb.There maybe more.

Just a short story:
I owned a "Pro Shop" in the early-mid '90's.
Tim and Jeff sent me their TS Sneakies on consignment..:eek:
Who da hell would do something like that to a guy 4000 miles away?
Timmy, that's who... And, not only one or two, but, $3000.00 worth!!
I'll never forget what trust he had.. And, all he said was " He was just helping
out a guy that was just stating out"..

Thanks for posting this Eric. I wish Tim all the best! I have been a Scruggs lover ever since the late 80's. Thats when I first bought my true custom cue and it was a Scruggs!
 
Great pictures and story about the blanks you've been looking for, those are definitely a diamond in the rough find so to say. Who ever gets to own any of those made by the cue makers your going to work with, will be a very very lucky SOB. ;)

Nice to see Tim and Dan looking well. Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us. Have you ever thought of letting Leon Sly finish one or two of Mike's blanks? Leon has Tim's shaft machine with the custom tapers. I think Timmy likes Leon because he calls him Sly in the family Stallone. Of course Timmy likes everyone ane we all like him. In a cue world full of Pinto's, you just got a whole stable of Corvettes. From what I have seen I think they are in the right place. Give us some close ups when you get time.

Tim and Mike

The words Class, and Dignity come to mind when your talking about Tim Scruggs and Mike Cochran. Every time I went to see Timmy and Mike they made my wife and I feel like we were family. So sorry to see the legacy ending. What a fitting way to have Dan Janes finish off the last of their cues.
You are a very fortunate man to be part of their legacy.

Congrats on this rare acquisition on another batch of Scruggs/Cochran cues

Yet again your collection moves into a whole other level,, probably & I'm just guessing but the largest collection of them in the world here soon If not already
