So I was down visiting Dennis and having a great time talking cues when in walks Johnny Archer and Nick varner. It was a great time hanging out with these guys, as they were two of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.

I found myself thinking if only I could find a pool table I could get the three of them on there and kick some butt....LOL...............Then I stopped daydreaming and got back into the conversation.

The next day Dennis took me over to see Bob Manzino at his shop. It was another great time talking cues and all kinds of things with Bob and Dennis. Bob was good enough to give me a peak at the forearm of the cue he is making me right now. I know I said I wanted it to be a secret and dont show me anything until its done, but this was nice. Here are some pics......

Great story

Great story. Thanks for sharing.I would have loved to meet either Nick or Johnny and they both come strolling in.Very nice.Hope you love your new cue and it was cool to see a pic of Dennis's shop!Johnny and Nick might have been around for "the legends and champions" tour. Thanks for sharing again.

Thanks for sharing nice pics .... Hope you had a great time ... and that Fore arm looks like it is going to be part of another very good looking cue... I doubt that Archer and Varner found thier way into Searings shop by mistake seeing them in there says something to me about the guy and his cues ...

Thanks.
What is that machine DS is working on?
Looks like a Porper but with a collet closer.

So glad you made the trip.
I am sure it must have been exciting seeing the work by Bob Manzino first hand as it was in progress.
Too bad there was no picture of your first impression of the forearm.

Looking forward to seeing you again very soon.

What a fantastic time! Thanks so much for sharing the pics, Steve. I plan to get down to Dennis' shop some time next year. That Manzino is gonna be another killer.
Congrats!

hey

I thank you all for the nice comments. Bob not only showed me how he did the forearm, but he gave me the test piece of wood that he did the design on and apiece of silver that he used to cut the designs out of. Its nice to have them with the cue.

Steve, that cue is sick. Dennis told me a little about it and I was dying to see it. Do you have any close-ups or are you going to keep us in suspense?

Another gorgeous Manzino in the works. Can't wait to see the final product! I bet seeing how the cue was constructed will make it even more special. Congrats!

Captain Bob will strikes again with your new Cue???:eek::bow-down::bow-down::bow-down::bow-down:

Thanks for the pictures and they may help me understand how Johnny can play with a Scorpion cue. I'd almost be willing to bet that Dennis has made shafts for Johnny to use on his Scorpion cue. It makes sense now that i've seen these pictures.......

James, that may be true....I dont know. But a nicer everyday guy you will never meet.

Archer's Scorpion cues are built to his specs; I'm pretty sure he doesn't use a Searing shaft. He and I did speak a little about this while he was in Miami.

Pretty cool!!! Sounds like it must have been fun!

Is the buttsleeve going to mirror the forearm? Like the 'Crown Imperial' only in ebony?

Thanks for the pics.
