Here are the Joint caps that Dennis has created for my Searing "Twins"..
The silver veneer around the Ebony diamonds is only 4000's thick..
The joint cap inlays are a perfect in scale duplication of the butt design.
Alot of work in these (6) Joint caps..
Next week I'll post the finished product..
Best.

Those JP's complement the cue nicely..that Amboyna burl is stupendous! If the cues are not already sold, I don't think they'll be around long. I hope whoever ends up with the cues plays with them.

They are just beatiful and great works of art, congrats!
I'd suggest to order some joint-protector protectors, too :)

With each picture, the presentation of the cue keeps just getting better and better.
Awesome design and an incredible amount of detail.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Are the cues sold or will it be in your collection (just trying to see if a trip is warranted just to see these in NY)?

I have to say...

I was talking with Dennis about the JPs earlier this week. One word, stunning!
You see many high end customs created without matching JPs, or with simple ringwork, the inlays in the JPs match to scale the inlays in the cue.

I like the idea of protectors for your joint protectors...
Sounds like a good marketing idea..

I was over visiting Dennis last week. I got to see the twins and joint protecters close up. The pictures, though very good, do not do the cues justice. The details are amazing.

I also got to see the new CNC Dennis built himself and in use. His new CNC gives ANYONES the last four and the pop.

:D If you don't have a Searing ordered this year you will not see it in your lifetime, I saw his order book as well:D

Joint caps

I am actually at a loss for words (if some of you can believe that)

Stunning, absolutely stunning!!!!!! :) :)

Mr. Searing's attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.

Congratulations Ken.

I kinda figured that the day would have to come at some point.....Dennis needs some 'play' time too. :)

I got on it in December '05....so I still have some time to save, lol. :D What Dennis and I discussed is certainly no where near as fancy as what Ken has, however, should he be ready to undertake it when my name does come up, will still be a lot of work....but not inlay related. ;) Let's just say that, between the cue I currently have in build from another FL cuemaker, and the one I hope to get from Dennis......they will 'complete' me. I will be proud to own both, and they will NEVER be for sale.....unless, perhaps, I am pushing up daisies.

o no worries, i'm just happy i got on right before he closed it cuz when i was talking to him he said he was gonna make a decision on that real soon. i emailed him again earlier today to talk about the design. i'd call him but since mine isnt gonna be started any time soon i figured i'm not in a hurry so emails will suffice.

btw how long is his wait time? i have been under the impression it's 5 years and then 1 year to build it. now i'm thinking that i've been mistaken and it will actually be longer than 5 years.

To be quite honest, I haven't a clue as to his wait time these days......and here's why: he is such the perfectionist, as witnessed with Ken's recent 'twins' acquisition, that it is difficult to put a time frame on that. I figure that he'll get to me when he gets to me, and given what is at the end of that wait, it's all worth it. :)

Dennis and I had discussed a couple of things, but I really had settled into one idea, which I would prefer to keep just between Dennis and myself, for obvious reasons...lol. I do not think we have ever actually gotten down to the pricing as of yet, but I am sure it will be fair, and commiserate with the work involved. Let's just say that if he decides to do it...if it's even do-able...lol......to my knowledge, there will be nothing else like it. ;) I can tell you that it will be in BdR/Madagascar Rosewood....as is a cue I currently have in build with another FL cuemaker. :) Both will be my pride and joys, and will be very, very special to me.

Only time will tell! :D
