Seeking recommendations on cue purchase

Never tell your budget... lol j/k I think if you go to the ask a cuemaker as well you will find someone to help you with your decision. There are many helpful people here.

Good Luck,

Dwight

I sure love the hit of my Chuck Starkey cues. Right in that price range too. Do a search and you'll find that even Jay Helfert likes them a bunch.

Both of the cues you are looking at are very good choices. I would probably go with Josey myself. I have owned two and they were both top notch. I am not sure how many sneakys that BCM makes. I know Josey makes quite a few of them. Good luck.

What are you shooting with now? What do you like about it? What don't you like?

I assume this is your first new cue. I'll suggest that you should do what I did when I got my first custom cue. I went to a local cue maker. We discussed the design of the cue and the decoration. He made the cue just for me -- it was a truly custom cue as opposed to the current situation where mass-produced cues are called "custom" when they have a wrap and a joint. When there was a problem (entirely my fault), I went back to him for a repair, which he did for free.

Another advantage of buying local is that you have a better chance of trying either the specific cue or one a lot like it.

I'll also echo what Fred said: you need to think about and maybe even write down what you want in a stick.

What in the world could possibly make ANY sneaky pete worth more than $200?

I thought this was a great buy at WELL over a thousand dollars. I'd gladly pay what I sold it for to get it back, too!

A great one . . .

patrickcustomcues.com

I have one . . . VERY well worth it. Doug is an AZ'er so you need to at least have a conversation with him.

Mr. Green Chalk,

I have a Dale Perry sneaky pete that I wouldn't mind getting off my hands.

It's 1 of 1......of 10 billion.

PM me, if interested.

Peer,
That ratty old Brunswick of yours hits pretty good.

Roger Long,
I agree...a basic sneaky pete shouldn't cost much.
But if you look at Peer's Keith Josey sneaky pete styled/themed cue, I think you'll understand why a sneaky pete can cost more than $200.

Nobody likes predator sneaky petes? :frown:

I like mine and it was cheap :)

i like them for a cue you don't mind getting banged up. the finish is kind of crappy. i think if they made it a 3/8-10 wood to wood joint they'd sell more of them

I've been wanting a Dale Perry but I hear he's got a 3 year waiting list. Do you still have the certificate of Authenticity?
