Hi guys i just bought my first pool table a Gold Crown III. I have a unique situation. I bought it from somebody about 100 miles away (Palm Springs). Currently I am being charged $275 to disassemble it and transport it to my storage. So round trip there doing about 200 miles. Once my house is ready in 5 months the installers will pick it up from my storage and install it at my house no charge. But here is the catch in order to get that price of $275 I have to let them re-felt the table. I wanted to re-felt the table anyways. They would charge $350 to put Simonis felt on it. And if i wanted to do the cushions that would be $225 for Brunswick super speed. Is this a good deal? Thanks

That sounds like a fair price. What you need to know is about the quality of there work and will they come back to install like they told you.
Good luck with your table. Take care, johnQBS

As the others have said, those prices are in line with what they should be charging, but....GET REFERENCES! Make sure you know what the quality of the install will be BEFORE they do it.

And super speed will be fine. Artemis are great, but expensve.

westclox...A couple of questions for you. When you say "do the cushions", do you mean replace the rubber? If so, that's a good price. Other prices are in line with the market. I agree with the references...and CHECK them. If I were you, I would contact SDbilliards here and get a quote. He's an expert at installs, and has a great rep. I would have him do the work, if at all possible.

We've used SDBilliards to replace cushions and re-felt our 2 Gandy tables in my community center. There's no better in Southern California. Do a search here on this forum for SDBilliards and you'll see nothing but great comments.

Great advice! Getting a fair price is important but getting a table mechanic that does top notch work and has many references is woth your table's weight in gold!

Don't go with a mechanic just because you can save a couple of bucks,
you may live to regret it and it may cost you more in the long run.
