Shaft problem/questions

Hi,

I purchased a 314.2 uniloc Predator shaft via internet to:
Billiard Master
Polígono Industrial La Dehesilla, Nave 7
10200, Trujillo, Cáceres
Spain

The shaft I purchased is QUITE crooked! It is so bent that the gap is about 80 mm (0.3 English inches) between the tip of the shaft and the middle of it.

I took pictures of the shaft; it is possible to see them here:

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...nx0ZXN0bWF0aGV2YWx8Z3g6NmUwMDA5ODkyZTEwY2M5Yg

Another thing/question:

I am playing with a 314.2 and a Z2 shaft for years and it appears that the color of the wood is so different. See the link above; the new crooked shaft that I received (between my two other predator shafts) is much more wit than my prior shafts.

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...nx0ZXN0bWF0aGV2YWx8Z3g6MjNkNzMyMzdhNWVmMWQzMw

Is it normal? It is almost as if the wood was not sufficiently dried.

Another thing: the little black line on the uniloc system is highlighted. It is not so on my other shafts, where the black line is smooth.

Just wondering, because it is so bizarre to see a predator shaft wich is so crooked.

Thanks,
Marc

Why couldn't you just upload those pics to sites like photobucket or imageshack or flickr? It's so creepy to download those images from the link you gave.

I agree. I opened the link but did not open the files.

my friend bought his predator z2 shaft brand new. it came with his quiet roller. the shaft warped and the warranty said it was covered. he shipped the shaft to them and they said "we have a guy that straightens shafts out". about 5-6 weeks later he got the shaft back. as crooked as the day he sent it. oh yeah they had to cut the tip off to do what ever they did to it and didn't offer to replace it. not only didn't they offer to replace it they didn't tell him about it. they just glued the tip they cut off back on!!!

anyway he calls them back and they say "that's the best we could do. if you're not ok with it we can offer you a discount on a new shaft".lol why not spend 200+ again on a shaft that might stay straight! and hell if it doesn't he can always go through the whole ordeal again!

I have a 3 year Lucasi cue and the standard shaft is still dead straight . And their replacement shafts are about $95 brand new. You would think a $200 laminated shaft would not be warped brand new.
I would be furious. Great customer service Predator has.

That's not a shaft, it's a bow!

If it hasn't been chalked yet, you should be able to return it through the retailer you purchased it from. It's undeniably warped. I don't think you would have any trouble getting it replaced through warranty either, but going through the retailer when its new is always the easiest

As for the color, that looks about right. I have pictures of 314-2 shaft in the for sale section that is just about new if you want to compare the color. All the 314-2's I've purchased have always started off fairly pale until they build up a patina from being played.

Thanks for your commentar about the colour.
Of course, I didn't chalk the tip.
If I had the choice , I'd rather chalk a broom

Actually, a google account has image hosting that works even better....but he just didn't use it right.

As for that shaft....

WHAT? HUH?

I have low, low, low end cues that I am told are crap that have high growth ring count shafts that are straight and have been straight more than 20 years. No way, NO WAY that piece of crap should ever be considered anything but kindling. I wouldn't even prop a window open with it.

Straight back to wherever you got it, now, not later. Predator?

Note to self: Another reason to not like plywood shafts.......

.

I saw the pictures of the banana you left on your kitchen table, but where was the cue shaft?

That is ugly! I've owned several Predator cues and my playing cue is a Mezz with a 314 shaft. I've also worked on dozens of Predator shafts. I've never seen a Predator like that. 99% of the Predators I put on my lathe spin dead true.

You need a refund. I always heard Predator's return policy was excellent. Apparently not.
