What are you guys thoughts on shaft racks VS hanging i have some hanging and some in a rack just wondering your thoughts. Oh and for those that don't know or use a different term and i am sure most of you do know a shaft rack is a metal or plastic rectangle shaped container with a inner square grid that is used to separate the shafts. Here is a picture of one i just found on atlas site.

i am not sure which is better if either, but we have a rack and are going to get another.

you can buy the stuff to make them at Home Depot or Lowe's.look in the closet organizing section.

I have them on racks. The racks can be bought at Target for less than $20.
9 by 9 1.25 inch square holes holes.

I hang'em It gets em out of the way. Cup hooks and some old wire rack I had laying around. In a 12'x 6" space I can put 600 shafts. A shopping cart would work well for a rack also Or bread trays old milk carts.

Not that I think It's a better method, but that's What I do too. Cup hooks to hang them, then I have a couple of wire racks that hang under a shelf, and on top of that I had built some rod racks a long time ago to hang My fishing rods on the ceiling, so no longer in use for that, I took and stretched wire accross those to hang shafts from. I need to change that though because they sag a bit in the middle, and I always hit My head on them.:D I like the thought on a floor type shaft rack though, just that I need every extra bit of floor space that I can get.

I hang mine - If you have enough height - you can hang them overhead
and not loose any floor space.

The Atlas setup looks like some of the weight may be supported by the
tip end of the shaft - if so, I very much don't like that choice.
