Shane - Best Tournament Performance Ever

Thanks Leonard 4 the heads-up.

Who knows Efren and Francisco may also come up to Reno from LA.

Keepin my fingers crossed !

Noel

I think there's a chance. They're both playing in the Swanee in Southern California next weekend so they'll be not terribly far away with only a couple weeks til Reno. Neither is on the list of entrants for Reno yet, but either is Shane.

Nope. Reyes is the only one other than Van Boening to win 2 of the 3 main events in the same year -- one-pocket and 9-ball in 2005.

Daulton's wins were banks in 2000, 9-ball in 2001, and 9-ball in 2003.

This info is on the DCC website.
You are right, TX

Give Shane time. After he "sows his oats" in rotation pool and matures, he'll get into 14.1. It's inevitable. All-around greatness (and I mean *real* all-around) doesn't happen until a player reaches the age where proficiency in 14.1 is desirable. That doesn't happen until a player is in his/her 30s and beyond. Efren proved this when in the very first straight pool tourney he entered -- the 1995 Maine Event -- and won it.

FYI Sean, Efren played in the 1993 US Open 14.1 championships in New York City. I believe he finished either second or third.

You must be thinking of something else, Stu. The 1993 U.S. Open at the Hotel Pennsylvania was one of the few U.S. Open 14.1 events I have been able to attend, and Efren was not there. In fact, many of the top pros were not there because of some squabble between organizations.

1st was Oliver Ortmann, 2nd was Chien-Sheng Lee, 3rd was Carlos Vieira, 4th was Bob Vanover.
