Shane or Shaw ?

Who do you like in this format?
Shane vs. Shaw playing all these matches on a 9' Diamond Pro-Cut, Simonis 860, jump cues allowed, regular BCA rules:
1. Match One: 9-Ball, race to 21
2. Match Two: 10- Ball, race to 15
3. Match Three: 8-Ball, race to 21
4. Match Four: Banks (short rack) race to 7
5. Match Five: One-Pocket, race to 5
6. Match Six: 14.1 Straight Pool, 200 points

I think Shane has the edge in Matches 2 and 5.
I think Shaw has the edge in Matches 3 and 6.
I think Matches 1 and 4 are even.

My money is on Shane. Jayson is a great player though. Long race then Shane wins. 2 out of 3 races to 30 would be better for Jayson gambling.

Now that you made a little change...

I think svb wins any of the above non numbered games.

I also think I would like to see the others...giving a slight edge to Shaw, coz he is riding the wave today.

I also think I would like to see the others...giving a slight edge to svb, coz Shaw is gonna come with the give-up stroke sooner or later.

I'm not so sure today Shaw has the give up stroke in him he's riding a big high , however it's hard for a leopard to change his spots like shingles if you had chicken spots your subject to the virus ,,

SVB in every game.
Until Shaw proves he's more than on a tourney hot streak, plus he's got a crappy attitude which could cost him if his rolls don't come per the norm of late.
Last year it was Sky or Justin getting all the yap on here. BTW, Sky would probably take half of those games too, at least.
It also seems that you guys forgot about Alex... only one of the best players of the last 10+ years next to Shane...

Yup...mika had a helluva run a few years ago too.

Tough to stay in front of the field for long.

Just do One pocket Race to 21 with 5 ahead - winner breaks ( yeah, I said it!)

What your asking is certainly debatable based on the year Shaw has had. But, I remember Alvin had a pretty good 2015 year. I enjoy watching the way Shaw plays, as some of the real slow players bore me.

Even if the format you have was played and Shaw won, I do not believe he is the better player. It takes multiple lengthy sets to show dominance. Time is the proof tester of greatness and one good year is not much time.

Shane has had a good year almost every year since 2007, close to 10 years. I think if they played several of your proposed sets we would have a better idea of who the better player is.

Betting against Shane very often in 9 and 10 Ball in any long set will empty ones wallet after awhile. Shane has discipline and a great work ethic, shooting 6 to 8 hours a day is work that takes dedication.

As good as Shaw is, I do not see where he has proven to be as good as Shane, Efren, Alex, Earl and a few others proved they were, year after year.
 
Shaw has a realistic chance in every discipline, but assuming winner breaks, Shane is a clear favorite in 9-ball and 10-ball. The 8-ball is even, as we saw at the Make it Happen where they split the two sets they played. Shane is far more experienced at Banks than Jayson and has won the Derby City One Pocket, so I give SVB the edge in those disciplines. I give a slight edge to Shaw in straight pool, but both are 200+ ball runners, so it can go either way.

To sum, I make SVB the favorite in four disciplines, Shaw the favorite in one discipline and they are even in one discipline.

This all-around match looks like tough action to me for Shaw, but Jayson is on the rise, and may be up to this match sometime going forward.
 
Anything can happen. Most might like Shane over Dennis in an all-around(8b,10b,1p), but Dennis beat Shane in TAR in the all-around a few years ago. Dennis won a great match over Darren too.

If they play again today, it could still go either way.

I would love to see all-arounds again.

8b and 10b, race to 25-30
1p, race to 8.

Shane, Dennis, Shaw, Alex.

Match it up, someone make it happen.

If its just one on one all-around, Shaw vs Shane for instance... $30.

$12-15/day.

Wouldn't even need fancy camera work. Just one good camera angle view.

Hmmmm, yes:
Make It Happen...is a fine idea.
 
Based on current form ( not historical performance )
Shane wins 10b, 1P,Banks
Jayson wins 9b,8b,14.1

Since tied 3-3, overall Tiebreaker can be Pokemon Go :)

Would pay up to $20 per day
But would prefer 6 or 8 men invy instead of 1 to 1 like recent MIH
