Shane said before the match that Corey wouldn't...

Make it to 70. Boy, was he wrong.
sweet! more hear say after the fact, lol.i wonder why none of those smart cappers and gamblers up there made a line that corey doesnt 70 or even 80? i mean they could have only won about 200k more.

Where did this come from? From what I've seen of both of these players, neither one would have made that claim before the match even started. Stand up guys on both ends, and I'm sure they both knew they had their hands full.

I'm certainly not saying either one is not a standup guy. They are still humans and pool players and I think they are allowed to talk a little sh*t.

Shane told me a couple few years ago while we were watching a match on ESPN that I'd be watching him on ESPN before too long. I wasn't convinced in that case either.

Last night he told me how many games Earl would win against him. I think I'm going to believe him this time.

Who cares?

Who cares? I bet you wouldn't play Corey for that much money!

I would love to be at either one of those guy's level!

Correct about the heresay. A couple of people told me they heard him say it. Subject should probably read "Shane rumored to say..." Sorry about that.

I believe it's possible that he made such a claim. He is confident and well aware of what he and others are capable of. If he did say it, he probably didn't just blurt it out, I imagine someone probably asked him how many games he thought corey would win.

So, then put your money where your mouth is, post the line as given by SVB, and bet with odds on it. If you're so confident, make some money at it?

BTW, is SVB willing to play any of these guys in their game? I'd love to see SVB in a triple header match against John Schmidt. Straight pool, 10-ball, one pocket. Winner of the best 2 of 3 takes the cash. What does SVB think of his chances in this game?

If you want, you can ask him yourself. He is Southdakotakid on this board. He might even take your action if you think he's wrong.

Ask him about the John Schmidt thing, too. If what you are eluding to is that he is a one-trick pony, that is truly classless.

I don't think anyone made that claim. He's a world class player and he's proved it. But if he is going to call out a number of wins I want to hear it.

he very well may have said it! he also said something along the lines of every player was afraid of him too.saying it and meaning it are 2 different stories.he is still just a kid and he is going to put his foot in his mouth sometimes, like we all did at his age.

Classless? Schmidt made the exact same statement when someone asked him if he would play SVB. If Shane's going to woof because of one win against Corey, that's what is classless.

He's making a champ sound like a dog.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you speaking for him?

SVB made sure the match with Corey was in his favor. There's no denying that one. If he is so confident (and don't think that I'm saying he isn't a great player - he is) in his abilities, maybe he should step out and play Corey or Earl at the universal game of 9-ball. Like people have said, it's only one less ball. If SVB can beat Corey 30 ahead (his call), how does he think he'll do against Earl or Corey at 9-ball?

Not dogging your boy. It's just that when you post this woofing crap after the fact, it's sand in the eye of the guy that lost. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL.

He wasn't woofing. I asked him how many games he thought earl would win and he told me.

No matter the number, he wasn't calling a champion a dog. He was just saying that he thought he was going to win. I'm sure Earl thinks he is going to win, too. There are two champions in this race and one is going to lose and I don't think anyone is going to call him a dog.

I'd like to see Shane play some 1P and 14.1, too, but an all-around with John Schmidt is probably not a good place for him to jump into that.

Well, you posted the number he thought Corey wouldn't get to after the match was done. How about giving us a sneak preview and letting us know his prediction on Earl?

BTW, has the game been decided? Would SVB play Earl a race to 100 at 9-ball?

He said it was going to be 10 ball. I'd prefer 9 ball. I asked him if he thought the outcome would be different in 9ball, but I don't think he heard/understood me. Or maybe he didn't like the question so he pretended to not hear. ;)

>>>> I think Earl is a poor opponent in the next challenge especially for this new enterprise -The Action Report.

....What if he get blown away and just starts hanging his head and blasting balls after it is 20-5- we going to look at that for 2 days? Not to mention he hasnt beaten anyone in recent times. It will be a giant setback especially after the Corey/Shane deal being a wax job. Im sure day 2 was a disaster at the Gate.

..... I hope these fellas can find a way to get in touch with Yang or Wu-maybe have to raise the $$ some but those are the guys to play IMHO.

I think with the difference in the mental games of Shane and Earl, that Shane would swim through a river of shiiiiite to play Earl.

Yeah, I said it...

It's not that I am saying that Earl is a bad player. I'm just saying that right now, Shane is a much much much better one.
