He played Tony Watson in SC a couple of months ago. I think he beat Tony the first set for $3000, and Tony beat him the second set for $5000.

He's a great player and i actually got to shoot with him on a team for league. There was another thread about him here named like "Who's the masked man" or something. great kid

I was in Reno and the guy shoots jam up! He was also a nice guy, got to talk to him a little around the bracket board...He told Chohan to come to South Dakota(?) because that's where his backer is...Is he that good on a big table? ....................... Marc

i havent personally watched him shoot on the big tables but his game on there is progressing (people say) and soon we will probably be watching him on tv i hope

Finished 3rd in Reno 9-Ball. Does anyone know any info on this guy?? Thanks.

Shane is a great kid. Pool is in his blood. He comes from a pool family. His grandparents, his mother/father, his aunts/uncles are all decent too very good players. When Shane was born he had a hearing defect, it took a few years for technology to catch up to him so he in effect was deaf in his formative years. He now has special hearing aids but he does have a small lingering speech deflect because of those early years of deafness.
Shane is for real, he is fearless on the boxes, and he plays with great focus (I think he can turn his hearing aids off and just blockout & by the way he can read lips...LOL) If anyone of you would have the opportunity to be around this fine young man you would have to like him; even if he just busted you...
He plays good on the big table also. Hell, he would play good in a sandbox...just a super guy.

This young man came thru tennessee about 2 or 3 months ago.
He came up to Murfreesboro Billiards and played Johnathon Hennessee on the 9 footers and steamrolled Hennessee. Race to 15 for $3000 and he won 15-4 in a little over an hour! He put on a clinic. He only missed 3 shots in 19 games. I talked to him afterwards and he said he was going to chattanooga to possibly play Shannon Daulton. I dont know if that matchup ever took place or not, but I will say that Shannon doesnt have to like it!
Also heard that Hennessee and him played on the bar box and Hennessee beat him.
A really nice kid and a name you are going to continue to hear about for a long time.

Frank,

I didn't hear of him matching up against Stevie or Bruce while he was here. Probably best at first. If he could beat them, it would have killed the rest of his action in the area. Nasty can probably let us know if either of those matchups took place.

I am sure if Shane shows up in Calgary he can get action, expecting Edwin to be the one traveling to the other persons home town at his expense for the match and then having the attitude that if he does not do this he clearly does not want to play is pretty one sided. Playing in ones home town in front of the home town crowd on the home tables is a advantage more times then not in a money match. Edwin has his own cash to gamble but there would be ALOT of people who wanted side action on Edwin's side if the match was played in Calgary.

edwin wanted it

he aproached shane no 1 sided anything shane told him if he wanted to get played to come to sioux falls.and there might be a few that want to bet edwin. just inmy opinion edwin is the favorite. by the way that wasnt ment to say if he doesnt show he dosnt want any. edwin is a champion on every level.

OK thats cool man. Some take the stance that if action is offered and not met it is pretty much an admission of being a weaker player and thats the way I read it, seems I misread it though so my bad for taking such a defensive stance for a hometown favorite.

Interesting to hear you think he would be a slight favorite, I dont know if I know who Vanboeing is, saw some Shane guy playing in Vegas a couple years ago, short, stocky build, 20'ish and dirty blond hair. Was messing around with Dr. Cue abit when I saw him and if it is the same guy I do think I remember he did pretty good in a singles event if it the same guy we are talking about.

Sucks to hear about a $10,000 tourney in Calgary since I wont be there at that time. Who is putting that on? Same time as the Great White event almost but that place is history now and the only other hall I can think of that would think to put on such as event is Styx and that seems a little unlikely since they have not been catering to the top level players lately, maybe the house pro there now might be a reason to put on such an event though.

Well if those two would not play then that tells me something.
I ahve not spoken to either of them in a while. Sounds like
Shane has a future playing with the Archers, Stricklands and other big time guys.
If you ever get out to SoCal shoot me a PM.

Kid Shane

Saw him for the first time in Reno. Good kid with a good attitude, and he can play. Just turned 21.
Very strong for a young player. Willing to gamble and bet high, which is rare. Has good backers, which helps.
Good genes, the Bloomberg family are serious about their pool.
Not quite the level of Corey and Alex at a similar stage of development. But who was? They were world beaters at 21.
Give Shane a year or two and will see how good he is and can be. I remember Jon Kucharo (not so long ago) and how solid he was and how much potential he had to be a top player. Where is he now? Couldn't handle the pressure. Coltrain is another top young player who fell by the wayside.
