The match and date is set!

It has been almost 2 years since anyone tried to play me 10 ball. Last match was against Chang and Dennis. I won both matches.

I will be ready and prepared to play against #1 in the world. My backers are ready!

I promise you! This is not an exhibition! This is definitely a real match!

Anyone know where I can find the table specs? If it's 4'' pockets, Gorst. If not then are they 4 1/4?

I was at Railyard Billiards recently, and the action tables are typical Diamonds, with 4 1/4" pockets. Unless they bring in something special for the event, I would expect it to be played on those. Louisville in August in an old building, you can expect humidity to be a factor, as well.

Fedor has been inconsistent lately. So much fiddling with his equipment, he does not seem to be comfortable with it. It will be hard to beat Shane's break if he finds it. Ought to be interesting for sure.

These types of matches are essentially a glorified exhibition or a marketing exercise designed to build hype/sell PPV. They’re not betting their own money and they get paid regardless of what happens so there is nothing on the line for either of them. Maybe bragging rights but I doubt they care too much about that as you can’t pay the rent or buy fancy Louis Vuitton belts with bragging rights.

Sign of the times here that Shane has to say this, for many would have assumed it's an exhibition regardless of the money indicated.

Shane knows that these days, many of the posted "high money" matches are ones in which the advertised money has little, if anything to do with what the players have at stake.

Let's hope this is on the level.

You don't think the winner will get more money than the loser?

I wouldn't expect the players to have the full $50K in the middle out of his pocket but in something like this they should have some skin in the game, maybe $5-$10K of their own money? At least substantial enough to make it hurt a little if they lose.

These guys have put in the work to be the best. Why shouldn’t they benefit? Make their own game. They are self employed, independent contractors. I’m not knocking what MR has done, but they don’t own the game, and shouldn’t own the players either. My internet connection has gotten a lot better. It’s almost reliable now. This will be the first stream I actually buy.

This is it.

It exists for research and filling gaps into the schedule. The research would be trying new things in production, practice and apply their duties to an event to prepare for a future event. While having two star players battle it out and everyone buying and paying to watch.

Shane, old, blind and decrepit playing the best in the world, in his prime. :sneaky: He has balls.
He's not that but he is past his prime.

Gorst? He's been inconsistent so there is that.

I look at it as "passing of the torch" match. If SVB lose then its over for him as a marque player. It's the Gorst generation.

People will watch this historical event. Gorst being the new face of American billiards and SVB riding off into the sunset. Or SVB wins and stays relevant for the time being.
