But along with those other necessary things she has something that most others don't have, which is great (not decent) looks that set her apart. Think about it, who are the only women players to have received any signigicant mainstream exposure? Jeanette...Jennifer...Eva. Now why do you think that is? What do they have in common that others don't?
Take Vivian for example again, one of the most likable women on tour. She is probably even more likable and has a better personality that Jeanette (of course subjective, but it's certain that she is right up there). The talent between the two has also been about equal over a long period of time. Vivian also has a lot of determination, and she is a pretty smart cookie too. Why isn't Vivian making $700,000 per year in endorsements or whatever significant amount it is?
What about Allison? She is without a doubt the top talent, the most determination and drive, extremely professional, smart, etc. I really don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure this all out...

You are reading into it something that isn't there again. The original reference was "better than 90+% of women who play pool." I didn't exclude anybody, so that means ALL women who play pool at all levels are included. Here is part of a later post where I even spelled it out (as if it wasn't clear the first time). In reality, Shanelle is working on her game, and would probably beat you, but you assume for whatever jealous reason that she sucks. What if someone assumed you sucked at photography because you're not a bad looking chick? Is your profession demeaning because it contributes to the stereotypes that women face? You don't think you contribute to it? People think porn directors are demeaning to women because they promote a narrow view of women though porn, although women do have the choice to perform in front of that camera. The porn directors distribute and shoot the porn, just as you photograph people. Aren't you somehow contributing on some level to the same stupid argument you made about the reasoning of why someone like Shanelle would be used to sell cues in photos?
I'm thinking your own insecurity about how you'd appear in those same photos/ads is what is buggin you. If that was you, we wouldn't be talking about how hot and awesome you look, and you wouldn't be selling anything for Predator...and it's not because you can't play or because you're unattractive, it's because you're a downer. I love being a female player...I get to practice with most of the top male players in the area without having to bet a dime, so in a way I exploit it as well. But it always disappoints me to see fem

The only people that are going to be mad about her hotness, are gay men, and jealous girls. I think shes awesome to pool because shes so freaken HOT.
Think about people that walk in and see her play. They will probably want to play pool too! lol. If I never played pool, and saw her playing I wouldn't hesitate to watch her play. Maybe even get a table near her, start playing too, and then try to gamble with her haha. But if I never played pool, and was intrested in watching her play maybe I would then like the game because im watching her play and understanding the game some more.
I think it definitely helps to have more good looking girls playing pool. If all the girls that played pool were nasty I think you would have a lot more people saying "Ew wtf this is a nasty sport!". :grin:

Have little doubt that women would see nothing too attractive when looking at me, but since we're discussing looks have got to say that on looks alone I can't really see what the fuss is about. Shannelle isn't an obvious candidate for the title 'stunner'. She might get gaga stares in a pool room but that hardly qualifies as any kind of a compliment or proof and while she's nice enough she wouldn't rate a second look on the streets of most Asian capitals.
For objectivity I asked three non-pool-playing male colleagues (one Asian, two Brits) and one young Fillipina secretary here to take a look. All four were distinctly unimpressed. Pear-shaped and hard-faced were two unkind comments.
When showing them Jasmin, the opposite reaction came out and can't honestly help but agree with them.....and she CAN play.

I'll tell you this...when she was at the SBE I don't think anyone cared how well she played. The Predator booth was one of the most popular while she was there. She is actually prettier in person...if that's even possible.
So, for sponsorship? If she's a spokeswoman being paid for that then she deserves it....
