Shanella Loraine More Photo!!!

here is another analogy. let's say Marissa and another lady colleague play the same speed. Marissa was offered to endorse the product but vehemently refused because she believe that she would only embarass the sponsors. so the sponsors turned to her colleague who plays the same as her. she gladly accepts the offer. now Marissa gets mad because she believes that her colleague doesn't deserve to get the endorsements.

now, who are we to decide for the person whether she accepts the offer or not? she was the one who was asked, she was the one who was made to decide. you did nothing but rather biatch about it. it's not like she did something bad or stole from somebody. it was given to her, by privilege. why hate on the person who accepts the gift? aren't you suppose to be glad? why so sober about someone who accepts a gift?

I would much rather watch an attractive female player bang balls in the side of rails all day long as oppose to watching an ugly female players split the pocket. This is just my opinion because I get to watch the best men split the pocket all the time and if I'm going to watch the ladies play then I'd rather watch the better looking ones.

This aligns with the point I stated a little earlier -
If men followed the same guidelines for sponsorship as the women endure, Efren Reyes would have a hard time finding sponsorship.

As a female, I would rather see good pool, regardless if the player is male or female. An average guy would rather see a girls chest hang out of her shirt when she bends over to shoot. That's where the frustration lies - due to this difference in mentality, the women players who can really play and need the sponsorship have a harder time making ends meet. The young, cute ones willing to expose themselves and potentially lampoon the sport are where the money flows in. There are plenty of girls on the pro tour that are very attractive and can at least run a rack.

Nothing personal against Shanelle, she is a beautiful girl and most girls would probably do the same thing in her situation. She gets to travel the world and represent a sport she apparently enjoys. Fart Sniffer is right, the blame lies with the sponsorship companies. It's just frustrating to see so many male pool players buying into it and perpetuating the root problem.

I give "gifts" all the time to pretty women.

Actually I did turn down someone wanting to sponsor me because I'm not at a level where I would best represent any sponsor. I've played three times this year. I would only embarrass them and myself by wearing their logo.

How do you know that your pool playing ability was the only factor in representing them? You may have done yourself and them a disservice by turning down the opportunity. Being who you are and what you are may have been more important than quality of play....maybe it was quality of player that they wanted. Like this thread's subject....maybe it was the quality of........they wanted. Advertisers put their ad $ where they feel it will pay off for them....no need to hate them for it.

We all need to be careful when we unleash the negativity...because we all have negativity in ourselves and our paradigms are shaped by it. We can't change others, only ourselves. If we are an example of what we want to show the world, then our actions speak louder than any words.

I wasn't saying that my opinion was right by any means. I was only telling the truth as it pertains to me. Being friends with a number of professional men players, I've seen championship pool from the best in the business for many years and I would rather see a more attractive female player if I'm going to watch the women play. This is only my opinion so don't hate me, lol.

basing from Marissa's statement, this is my understanding of her logic. if Marissa was given/offered a sponsorship deal and paid for promoting or advertising pool cues and stuffs, that wouldn't be right. and she shouldn't accept the offer because Karen Corr deserves it better than her. Did I hit a nail on this one?

That is not actually Marissa's logic, even though she may claim it is. If it were, then she would expect Jeanette to turn down any sponsorships that would have her making more money than Allison, who is clearly more deserving.

Marissa has instead chosen to be hypocrital with her viewpoints by stating that it is not ok for some players to take sponsorship money that could have gone to more deserving players, but it is ok for some of the other players to do that very same thing and take the sponsorship money that could have gone to the more deserving players. She may not even realize it, but it seems to be based more on who she does or doesn't like.

(Firecracker, please, shut up. Shanelle is hot, o.k.? She needs your respect, and if she's hotter and more popular than you are with the boys, you need to just deal dude, and give her props. You can be a real hater Firecracker. Go stick some trees in the ground and save some kittens, but leave Shanelle alone! We (male pool players) like her, a bunch, so as far as Shanelle goes, you need to just move on and live your life and leave her to us. You're fired Firecracker!...and if you're reading this Sweet Marissa, "you're fired too hater!".)

Firecracker posted a very intelligent response and wasn't rude like you are being. No reason to bash her for speaking her opinion in a non-rude way.

Efren got the skill and the Charisma. there are players that are as good and better than Efren, but still Efren gets the vote. why? because of his showmanship. he loves to play and play for the crowd. not just because he's good. you remove the showmanship factor, then Efren would not be known as he is today.

When the female of the species realizes that men basically only have two thoughts in their lives:

1. "I could sure use a cold beer about now."

2. "Gee, I sure hope I see something naked today."

LOL, but it is true.

It's quite simple, sex sales most products and everyone wants to feed at the sponsorship trough.

The problem is in the sport of pool and billiards, it's a very, very small trough.

Spider,

You can't propose to Shanelle in Korean...She only reads English...Especially not Korean. By the way, you didn't make sense on the second sentence.

Translation by bi-lingual Korean - Yeah, I am a real Korean, not just claimed to be one like opps? - Will you marry me? no-able to stop sex for several days will you?

hahhah, back fired:p

It makes a little sense... it says " Sex is let's watch a lot"?

Just ask me what to type... by the way why are you using Korean to talk to her? I think Charlie is Korean, not Shanelle:rotflmao1:
