Looks like he's 678I've caught little blips of the guy over the past few years and think he plays pretty well now, better than not too distant past.
Anybody have awareness of/ if his game has improved, as in tourney results or Fargo increase?
Nice.Looks like he's 678
It's fortunate for all of us that he chose the path he did, for his contributions to the game are special.I've seen him play on video in several tourneys in Europe. He's pretty good now. But he's always said he started too late in pool to make any mark as a pro. And that he just doesn't have the time to devote to the sport with all his teaching (it's his job).
Indeed. I happened onto to his channel during the pandemic when I got back into pool after a 30-year absence. I've watched virtually every video he's ever produced. It's fortunate for all of us that he chose the path he did, for his contributions to the game are special.
I would add Barry StarkIndeed. I happened onto to his channel during the pandemic when I got back into pool after a 30-year absence. I've watched virtually every video he's ever produced.
His 20-minute vid on deflection, swerve, CIT and SIT is a masterclass. Best complete vid ever on the topic.
Sharivari, DrDave, Tory Lowry and maybe Niels Feijin are on my Mount Rushmore of Pool Youtube gurus. Feijin hasn't done nearly as many vids as the others, but each one is pure gold.
One thing Fargorate can't capture is teaching ability, which has far different requirements than playing. For example, if I have a choice of getting lessons from Tiger Woods, or one of his former coaches like Butch Harmon or Hank Haney, I will choose one of the latter every time. They can't play as well as Tiger but they understand the mechanics of the swing better and can convey it to their students. I think there are many great pros in pool who are clueless about how to teach the mechanics of stroke and tactics to a person of lesser skill. Observation capabilities are the main thing.Looks like he's 678
I think the main point of playing ability for an instructor/coach is that they can demonstrate shots if the student is having trouble with a skill. For most teaching situations, a skill level of 600FR is more than enough. And judging from his videos, Sharivari can execute any shot a top pro can do, but maybe not with the same percentage. One thing Fargorate can't capture is teaching ability, which has far different requirements than playing. ...
