Shaw v Woodward just announced!

Wow. Filler at DCC and now Shaw taking on 2 of the top 3 Americans.

I guess we can stop saying Europeans don't have gamble.

It's what happens when Euros move to 'Murica. They lose all class and decorum and turn into degenerate gamblers.

If these are exhibition matches, they are NOT gambling, their playing for a purse...just like a tournament,no pressure. If they are posting the money up out of their pocket then awesome.otherwise its just an exhibition(i personally know many, many players who have played exhibitions, for say 10k total, and they pick up the phone and do a 4k saver, means loser gets 4, winner gets the extra 2k(6k) total. Sometimes they simply chop it in half and you can usually tell when thats happening by their effort. I hope these are TRULY winner take all matches. I like jasons end in both, but will certainly be pulling for bergman and sky.

No pressure? Cutting the nine down the rail for the win in a 20K tourny-no pressure? How about a 12 foot downhill putt to win the US Open Golf-No sweat?

Shaw might've been sand bagging lately for these big scores.

I think Shaw wins, but I will pull for the underdog.
This will be a huge test for Woodward, which could reinforce his reputation as the 2nd best US player and one of the top pro players in the world. I'm curious how much of their own $$ the two players are risking?

I suspect Jayson is using family money, so it's basically all on him without any outside support. Justin and Sky certainly have backers but remember one thing, they don't get paid unless they win! They may get a cut of the streaming revenue but it's still a loss no matter how you look at it.

Shane 821
Dechaine 802
Berg 794
Sky 786

Numbers dont lie. A good 10 days does not make a world champion. Not sayin Sky cant play, just sayin Mike plays better on average.

Numbers do lie, especially here. Sky has been on fire for a few months, not just ten days. He was third at the International, he was Mosconi Cup MVP and he is now DCC Master of the Table.

A great weakness of Fargo is that it doesn’t penalize non participation in big events. Dechaine, who is semi-retired from competition, has not seen his Fargo rating drop, despite the fact that he is not quite the player he used to be.

Mosconi is team based, and he won because of doubles matches too.

In addition to this a lot of his matches at derby are likely not entered into the Fargo rate database afaik.
Here is a list of his opponents:
Ruslan Chinakhov
Shaun Wilke
John Gabriel
Thorston Hohmann
Shannon Murphy
Eklent Kaci
Chris McDaniel
Tim De Ruyter
Rob Saez
Lee Van Corteza
Carlo Biado
Dennis Orcollo
and James Aranas
He only lost one match to Aranas otherwise he walked through the rest with an average 9-5 scores. Other than Aranas, I believe only two players got to 7.
Not saying Dechaine cant play but Sky Woodward should not be underestimated or considered anything less than a world beater

The good thing is, we can gamble on it if they play again.

Bergman and Woodward back to back now. Let's see who's the boss! I'm guessing Shaw wins one and loses one. Two losses would be devastating and two wins would be awesome.

The match with Bergman is not going to happen..

"What a day this has been

I finally had a rematch with Bergman we had all the details sorted and then today when I wake up I’m tagged In a post saying we playing on tight table that has big one pocket matches played before.

Then I ask the stream guy about the table and he says it’s not tight table that’s it’s standard.

10 mins later the owner messages me and tells me we thought you wanted a tight table but we can take another top from another table and put on to make it normal so basically they was getting me to the pool room thinking it was Playing on standard table but when I arrive I would have found out it was super tight that’s wrong in many ways. Old top on new cloth everything should be brand new should not have to deal with this 5 hours on my phone the day before not good preparation

Straight away that’s a move don’t care who is playing why not tell me this 1 month ago I would have had my table adjusted to the same as that tight table.

I’m betting about 14k of my own and getting staked for 10 my steakhorse is not happy with what’s happen and I’m not happy so for me to fly there tomorrow with all this shit going on I’m not willing to it’s already been 5 hours of messages. I have my flights booked and hotel I’m down 1500$ because of this nonsense.

Anybody who thinks I don’t want play or I’m scared is stupid I’m willing to post 30 to 50k in account and he can pick a neutral venue in Vegas standard table the money can be in account 10 mins.

The last time shit like this happen I still went and my head was not right and was stupid move but I’m smarter now

I’m happy to fly to Europe for the Eurotour tonight .

Anybody that wants play money game no stream and money in account with all details posted.

I apologize to who was looking forward to this match and was coming but this is right thing to do for me this about doing right thing and what’s happen is wrong and don’t feel comfortable going there."

Shaw is backing out because they are playing on a "tight" table, are you kidding me? These guys are both pros and have no business playing on anything close to a standard pocket table. By standard table, I'm assuming JS means either a Diamond table or a table with Diamond pocket specs - 4-1/2" corners and 5" sides? It's apparent that JS feels his fast pace tempo vs JB's deliberate tempo is more likely to be detrimental to his game, playing on an extremely tight table.

Last time I checked both players are playing on the same table, and top pro level players as these two are, should not be intimidated by playing on a table that has 4-1/4" corners or even 4-1/8" corners - when considering newly installed Simonis makes the pockets play bigger anyway. Anything tighter than that, I can understand, would be considered a gimmick table. Hopefully the two players will come to an agreement on pocket specs so that this match can go off, but according to JS's facebook post, it doesn't look like it's going to be this week.

This has to be the silliest post I've seen in a long time. If he's been playing/practicing on a normal table for the match, he will not be prepared to play on a tight table.

Have you ever played pool before?
