She said I need to get rid of some...

Lol...

Hey is that some OL1's or later replicas ... can't see the butt caps. If OL1 I might lighten your load a bit.

Randy

Oh...you mean these?

K Town, that about says it all.

(condensed)

Marriage is a lot about compromise, period. But compromising by not indulging in a hobby is not cool. Both people need a hobby or interest that they can do together as well as outside interests.

Neither has a right to really interfere in either of the others. Its production cues the guy is talking about, not customs for thousands of dollars.

Imma gunna agree wiff K-town & Hog here. You DO needa hobby.
How about you sell all them production cues , and then buy yahself a nice custom ! that's one way to "Thin the herd." ;)

It's sad when they are only the Meucci Cues I have. I can fill the whole table up with Joss, Dale Perrys, McDermotts, and cues from the Phillipines.

You have a Joss in that picture I want. Please let me know if you're selling.

Well I thought I saw a OL1 no wrap (Black over Black) but I guess not... thx though.

Well they all have wraps...just different colors on some. I'm sure I have one that is black...but it might be a 95-17 cue.

Seems a lot of people think a OL-1, O-1, and 95-17 are the same cue but they are not.

All three are different. But you'll never know unless you have all three.

No worries they are just McDermotts , you can always buy them back later! :) seriously if you're trying to get a house do what it takes just so you want the house also AND and its a big AND, the house will have room for a pool table !! If not I would not sale anything !

I have read the 4 pages of replies; many different opinions and view points... some understandable; others very drastic. I'll begin by saying; i'm no where near PW. But I have always been told by those who mentored me; happy wife, happy life. I do believe there is some truth to that saying.

Something I noticed and find ironic; is that on a weekly basis there are threads wondering how we can save pool and promote the sport. Here; I gave you a perfect opportunity to guide and mentor a young player. Some of you didn't miss the chance to sling mud and sneer. I hate to be honest with you; but the death of pool is you.

Yes I buy productions; I have a bit of an instant gratification complex. It can be my down fall; but there can be much worse. I have read many of stories of custom cues purchases going down hill, from significantly delayed to not even receiving anything at all. Costing members here time, money and unneeded stress. I choose not to partake in that. I like the ability to look at a website, call up my dealer and have the cue I want delivered in a timely fashion. I do choose to purchase Mcdermotts; I like the fact that the company is based in the US, and employs those who live here.

I started this thread to hear some stories of other guys who have gone through this; it helps knowing that it is common. I know for sure I'm not the first and I can bet my bottom dollar that I won't be the last. I appreciate the responses of everyone; and look for an m11b, gs06, some J&Js and maybe some preflag chalk in the for sale section.

You don't always have to stick with productions. For the price of some productions, you can buy nice used customs that may or may not require a a little TLC.

Ken for Fun has a nice Varney for sale for $250. I was itching on that one myself.
Kevins cues shoot pretty spanky and I read where he wasn't making any more at this time.

I have one and wouldn't mind another.

happy wife, happy life. I do believe there is some truth to that saying.

Probably true but that saying gives way to thinking that you spend your time making your wife happy. When does the Happy Man thing kick in.

Marriage is a two way street. When it turns into a one way, thats the time to think about finding another vehicle to drive.
