She sharks - reality series

I haven't seen a thread about SHE SHARKS, so I thought I'd make one since it looks like it's likely to fly.

Some of you on Facebook read about Blair Thein's recent partnership with AXIUS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP (AEG) in regards to his pool-based reality show called "SHE SHARKS."

I clicked through his FB post to learn more about AEG and it was highly exciting and encouraging. Check this out: <CLICK>

Some of AEG's past work has included shows like Rescue Ink, Urban Tarzan and While You Were Sleeping - Las Vegas. Their crew has credits that include Jersey Shore, Mob Wives, MTV's Jackass, Real Housewives and Duck Dynasty.


For those who haven't heard, She Sharks will feature a crew of attractive female pool players (who can play) as they travel the country in the Hustle Bus looking to score the most winnings as they make their way to the Vegas mansion for the final show-down.

Once a She Shark goes bust, she's off the show.

From what I've heard, Blair is trying to identify the route the Hustle Bus will take and to pick which pool rooms will be scheduled stops for the She Sharks... so things must be clicking.

Although I'm sure there's still tons of work to do, I'd like to send a big shout-out to Blair -- he definitely deserves success since he's grinded on getting a pool show on TV for many years. I'd love to see them conceal a camera on Rachael and have her bust some local guys in bars --- would be very entertaining.

Best of luck to She Sharks --- hoping this is a first step to getting pool back on TV in a format where "non-playing" people will want to watch.

Dave...You mentioned Rachael...do you mean Rachael Abbink? Do you know who any of the other 'she sharks' are? This seems like a total win, and something that many would watch! Hope it flies! :thumbup:

Yes, Rachael Abbink - I'd watch her fry an egg let alone someone's nuts on a pool table. I know she was chosen "right off the top" and they're currently in the process of choosing the other contestants. I'd keep an eye on AEG's website over the next few weeks.

It's a shame all of this good news is bitter-sweet for Blair as I heard that his father was just admitted to hospice care - very sad. It's every guy's dream to have his father see their son's success -- my prayers are with Blair's dad.

Cool, hope they stop at Doc & Eddies in Albuquerque to play the new Diamonds before they hit Phoenix or Denver on the way to Vegas... should be able to find some, a little, action. Rachel sat next to me for a few matches at the ladies Open in Albuquerque a few years ago...smokin' hot, could barely watch the matches going on, am sure she wanted to play me.

I will look into this concept with greater detail. But at first glance, hate to be the one... but its very weak. This is precisely the way I thought it would go, O NOEZ!!! I got voted off Billiard Island! Ah well. I pray I am wildly wrong and it will not become a weak fart of a joke that lessens peoples opinion of cue sports in general.

Perception is 90% of reality. The remaining 10% is squirt.

Why has only Abbink come out and say she is on show? The rest have a gag order.? If I could pick some of them I'd sign Jen B., Jeanette Lee, Alison Fisher to start with. The Striking Viking is pretty good on camera too. Johnnyt

This is one of a few that are in the process stage right now, the other one will have top players you know of and be more to your liking...

Perhaps they are trying to sneak up on people-hard to disguise that crew though it could be done.
 
The top players are more robots, tourney players. Will not be appealing to tv, they want the back room hustlin if you ask me. And some with personalities. I mean who wants Allison or Karen or Kelly on a reality tv series, they play great don't get me wrong, but they don't talk much. This is for tv and to draw people in, you need colorful characters, only top playing women that would qualify would be Jeanette and Vivian, they play to the crowds, audience.


It would be like a male reality show for pool, who would want to watch DAZ, toasty, Mike Davis, SVB, Marc Vidal. No characters there. You got to have characters to play the roles.

I get what you're saying, but I think all the robots you mentioned could easily lighten up in a show like this, especially if they're playing a bunch of nobodies they could spot the world too.
 
We shall see but I'm doubtful. One can survive IMO though with a colorful cast of characters.

What were those movies about? How many top pros were involved in them? And why?

Mike can be a character...
when he has his good boy hat on he is all business, but when his tie is off, he is a funny.
