Shocking news: Shane vs Denis match got canceled

I paid for the match up front and don't feel slighted one bit. Refund my money & all's good. These people don't owe me anything.... never did. If they want to play pool I'll pay to watch, if they don't I won't. This board has become a John French bashing pit since he took the mic at Dennis/Ko match. Why does everybody assume JF is solely at fault for this? Maybe Dennis finally figured out that he ain't got a prayer in hell of beating Shane and came to his senses. Maybe Shane got tired of Dennis' (I'm a pussy and can't take losing handshake)
 
Because Dave Cole, the room owner also a very stand up guy who has invested quite a bit of money in this match. He just publicly said whose fault it is.

He didn't say French was responsible, but he didn't say he wasn't either.

I don't know the details, and don't pretend to like everyone else on here. I do hope that the next person that tries to do something for pool, though, is treated a little better.

He pretty much put the blame one one man then listed everyone but French and said it wasn't their faults lol

Well, at least we're getting some info. So French's side says that Dennis screwed him. It sounds like maybe the "contract" signed with Dennis entitled French to a percentage of Dennis's tournament winnings and Dennis refused to pay?

I guess it's possible that Dennis signed a contract that he didn't read fully. I wish someone (like Jay) would just spill the beans, since all of us that were going to watch this big match and paid for the stream are involved in some way.

We also have a tweet from Dennis saying that the last "exhibition" match wasn't French's fault, so this is looking more and more like the blame may indeed belong in Dennis's lap.

So, why didn't the pool room owner blame DO ?
French did not put the money up for DO against Ko .
Does that tell us something ?

the french dude seems sketch to me but it was only a couple weeks ago shaw appleton etc all posting pics with him saying they on his team and he is the man who going to save pool etc very naive of them

i think dennis is at fault here more than anyone

im staking someone and/or got biggest match of my life and im road tripping to bar table tournaments with other players and backers instead of playing and preparing for the big match in beloiit?

dennis is known to have been super shady in the past and this is another blotch on his already tarnished character.

i think just because he is top player people want to jump to his defense when in reality he has shown multiple times he is not to be trusted

Dennis has skipped out on at least one known bad game, so im guessing that's his opinion of this deal. Imo, they make squat in tournaments compared to money games, so why not let someone carry the action if they can cover the nut. Who knows what all went down. He just comes off as a fast talker to me and im not big on that.

You going to the regional next month? Ive been hittin em real bad, but may want action nonetheless. :thumbup:
 
The word I'm getting is that French is simply a flake. So far the evidence supports this. The wall o text post from who I assume is his brother suggests it runs in the family.

If French blew 100k in pool over the last few months I'm curious where it went.
 
So what percentage are we at now... was 99%, then 98%... now with those Facebook posts I'm guessing 0%.

I heard after the Ko match that Dennis was on the way out the door with French. Dennis felt like he was being taken advantage of. Whats really funny is French talking all this noise about contracts and what not like Perry just up and disappeared. Dumb ass.
