Short Rack 8 Ball

Yes.... Easy.... Not against top pros....
Good poker players can beat the top pros, tho only TX Hold'.

Good poker players will never lock up with top pros in any other games and win in the long game.

I'm not sure what your idea of "good player" is... I consider myself a "good player". I've won tournament matches against a couple of monsters. What is a "top pro" to you? I understand the poker analogy...

I personally think APA 5 and below level players would benefit GREATLY from playing short rack 8 ball. They often get into 3-6 inning games where if they could just run 4 balls at the end reliably, they would dominate matches. Short rack puts you in that situation immediately.

Why not just make it 3 balls.

One solid, one stripe, and the 8.

Single elimination.
I tell you what is fun is a 3-ball ring game. Rack 3 balls in a line and who ever gets the lowest strokes to pocket the 3 balls wins. One tie all tie and anti up every round. Play that with 10 people $10 per round. there might be 20 ties. Pot gets real big and then someone makes all 3 on the break.

I used to make a lot of money in 3-ball games.

SVB race to 11, Gorst race to 11, Kaci race to 11, Filler race to 11 and so on.
Top pros above to clarify your perception....

You aren't clarifying my perception, you're finally explaining yours. I've seen them lose races to players that would fit into my "good" category. Feel free to keep trying, but I don't think you really made any point so I'll go ahead and back out of this back and forth.

I despise 8 ball. But the short rack version racked like 9 ball is actually fun and good for a tournament. Its a "run-out" game instead of a "pocket blocking bunt ball" game. We have one in my city once it a while and I played in it a couple of times.
