who are they?

.. I have reviewed the list of names the ABP says are members.... I have heard on TAR podcasts several players say they are not a member of anything... so other then the founder, president and VP who actually IS a card carrying member?

"Are you now or have your ever been a member of the ABP?"

If this question were asked of the players listed as the top 16 (per ABP rankings) how many would answer, yes?

Or if the US Open said the ABP members are banned would it impact more than 3 people (World Wide)?

JAM...I wasn't there, nor did I see brackets or any of the stream...but does anyone know how many ABP pros decided to "protest and sit out" Mike's recent Turning Stone tournament, based on him 'sticking to his guns'. I'd have to bet if there were ANY, you could count them on one hand. LOL

They tried to do the same thing to Mike Zuglan, insisting that he seed the Turning Stone tournament, and Mike stuck to his rights and said no.

That is *exactly* what I mean. For the so-called ABP organization (Charlie Williams) to come with this recent demand 2 weeks before the Open, it is absolutely outrageous.

So what if the players have already made travel plans and lodging. If they want to follow Charlie Williams like trained little pigs, then they lose out.

If they want to do the right thing and follow the rules that Barry lays out for his tournament, then the more the merrier.

Are you reading this, Barry? I know somebody's keeping you up to date.

mikeyfrost...I agree with you, but I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that if you had ALL the facts, the US Open has been more of a labor of love for Barry, than a money-maker, over the past 35 years. Barry makes his living from Q-Masters, not the US Open...unlike Hopkins, who makes his living from the SBE (now SBX).

Barry should do whatever puts the most money in his pocket.

nb92...Sorry, there are no funds to issue membership cards for the ABP. They do, however, have a "secret handshake", I hear! LMAO

Ouch!!! Sounds very unreasonable to make demands on someone booking losers on an event (assuming he is).

Though I agree with you, I think Barry will cave into their (CW's) demands.

I have a few more opinions of the reason's why but since I have no evidence I will keep the remainder of my opinions to myself.
