i never see any
dont know why
it's a good hard wood
here's one i made, and will be keeping it as my personal shootin' cue
i love the hit & feel of this cue
for now i have one of my extra predator shafts on it
i'll get around to making a shaft after i get some orders finished up soon

a few pics while cue was in progress
i had to refinish the butt sleeve since these pics were taken
loaned it out to someone, and it had a big dent in the finish when i got it back
imagine that!!

i guess this is the only hickory cue on earth
makes me want to keep it more

Hey BHQ,

Nice looking cue! I've wondered why hickory isn't used more often (personally, never seen it) on cues as well. I think it's one of the most dense North American hardwoods, at least on par with maple. Hopefully some cue historians can hypothesize on it's neglect ;)

i've never seen one before, but as a wood i would think it is plenty stout for cues.you aslo don't see to many oak cues for some reason.

Woody Woodworth

I hear that Woody is cutting some hickory as we speak for cuemaking. An employee says Woody believes it is superior to maple...maybe someone could ask Woody.....

also there are many woods superior to maple in cuemaking, but as far as shafts go,i can't think of anything superior.
