The newspaper doesn't redact old classifieds when a scammer rips someone off.

They stay hands off.

AZB is not staying hands off, and it may have indirectly hurt its userbase.

VERY good point. If he has a track record of this why wouldnt they leave it up for others to decide for themselves? The only reason I can think of for them removing it would be as a favor to said scammer. I havent followed this very closely over time. But has Showman ever posted any defense for the posts about him?

The moderators changed the title of my thread and told me they did so because they cannot confirm that Showman is a "pathological liar." There must have been something in Ken's post that went to far or in the view of the moderators was not verifiable. Apparently it is best to stick to the facts when torching someone on AZ for being a crook.

How would you know that a scammer ripped someone off from an old classified? Just sayin'.

Just sayin....geez I hate that term.

Let's say a car dealership was found to have ripped off hundreds of customers and it advertised in a newspaper.

Sure I understand that the newspaper cannot go back an remove old classified, but it can refuse to allow that car dealership to advertise in its newspaper in the future.

Many folks, (I am one of them), use AZ Billiards as a reference. Just in the last week or so I got a PM about a DPK cue I owned probably 5 years ago, from the new owner.

With the "Showman Ripoff" threads deleted and then someone does a search then the UNKNOWING cue buyer will only read what a great, and honest guy that this criminal is. Again, after my posting, and again after posting comments to these current threads, I have got many emails and PM's that this has also happened to them.

I used to commission a couple cues a year to be built by various cue makers. Since my Showman experience, I have only ordered one from BHQ, in about the last 4-5 years. So who cares? Hopefully WE care. I don't want any of my AZ Billiards brothers to get ripped off. Years ago, it was rare to see any deals go bad, but in the last few years we have read all too often about someone getting screwed over. Then everyone on AZ says how terrible it is for this guy or that guy getting ripped off, and how they wished there was something they could do or what we need to do to prevent it from happening.

The Mods are wrong for tampering with thie original thread........if you have a scumbag cue-maker........or case-maker or any Azer for that matter, the Forum has an implied duty to allow this information to percolate and become front page news........to do otherwise is to show bias and favor and in this instance, ir sure seems misdirected..........Showman needs to come forth and answer his accusers or else quit cue-making.....how many scumbag cue-makes have there been in the past couple of years.........Lee Pepper.........Tony Zinzola.........John Showman? If Showman doesn't want to be tar and feathered with these other assholes, he needs to resolve this current problem right now........today.

Even though I have only been a member here for a few years I have true respect for some members that I have never met or dealt with.

I applaud Ken as well as other members who had and have the balls to stand up for what's truly the right thing to do for 'others' which has sadly become very rare these day's due to politics and ones own agenda.

It's obvious with the many threads/situations that were posted here before I joined that 'position' is not only played in Pool.

Some members of this forum had Kevin Varney on that list. Turned out he was dying and in the hospital for months at a time and the "scumbags" were the ones questioning his honesty.

I suspect the people running this website are worried about a lawsuit. Those who disagree could always start their own website and allow whatever they want.
