Shuffleboard Hustling

Great read... I used to play in college, but had no idea that it was there were shuffleboard hustlers out there.
Makes me wonder what other games have hidden gambling subcultures.

We gamble on golden tee all the time. We've got 10 through 2 down the ladder, and cycles for 100$

In my experience, anything you can compete at (and if enough people compete at it), there will be some kind of gambling culture present.

Most shocking for me, was watching a few of my friends lose a good chunk, playing Magic the Gathering. Even nerds:smile: like to get it down.

True story, last night I had a dream that my daughter was snapping off a Pokemon card game.

The only thing that could possibly make it as hard is the fact that all boards roll different, but, it only takes a good player about 8 practice shots to get a board down.

<-- shuffleboard hustler.

You should see the action at the belt sander races . No lie

Want to see some of the best, if not the best, shuffleboard players in the world - go to Volcanoes in Hurst Texas (just out side of Dallas). I believe akatrigger goes there from time to time.

shuffleboard hustling

thought this was a pool website not shuffleboard or darts or golden tee pool people and things that relate to pool

sorry to ofend u but this is a POOL WEBSITE last time i checked if u and others want to talk about girly games like darts shuffleboard and goldentee maybe u should leave or go start your own website about those stupid games u talk about i expect to hear about pool not poop darts and shuffleboard and especialy goldentee which takes a little more skill than darts

Some of these prop bets are pretty funny... I like the knife-in-the-ceiling one. It's not pool but you'll find these guys in pool rooms for sure. The majority of prop bets I've seen in the pool hall happen off the table.

I've never played but it looks fun. The guys at my local club get loud and rowdy playing it lol. They always look like there having a blast..

Billy considers shuffleboard a more difficult game than pool, and shuffleboard players more socially acceptable than pool players. "In pool you start making balls in a month," he says. "To be any good in shuffleboard takes you a year. I've never seen a pool player that's worth a damn—as being a good guy. Shuffleboard players are businessmen, have real nice jobs, with a few exceptions. Bill Milton makes false teeth. Garry Moore is a postman. Kenny Herdman is a superintendent for Bell. Clyde Jones—they call him Jonesy—he has a nursery."

Even though this was written 46 years ago, the attitude remains the same; being a pool player means I'm a bum and a two-bit thief...
