Sick Blomdhal shot...just sick.

To me, the 3C guy that can really hit the sick shots is Semih Sayginer. He holds the world highest run of 31 in one inning. Check out some of this sick stuff ...

Semih is certainly one of the best, and maybe the best 3-Cushion Trick shot shooter that is, but when you get to the level these boys are at. it all comes down to who is better that day, not who is really the best, because there is no best, because there is only outstanding play.

Well that is what he told me personally, during one of the Carom Corner Tour events that was held in Tacoma Washington, at the Tacoma Elks lodge. I was acting as a Score Keeper and a Ref during the tournament which was five days long, we became friends. When the tournament was finished he was doing an exhibition match with Efren in Japan playing 9 Ball, and he needed to work on his game. So when he was not involved in the tournament we played 9 Ball, but he also gave me some fantastic help with my 3-Cushion game. Previously he had another exhibition match with Efren playing 3-Cushion and he kicked Efren's ass pretty bad, so this time they were playing Efrens game!!!!!:) Like I said above the guy is the most natural player I have ever seen besides Sang Chun Lee, according to him, he paints a picture in his mind and through his understanding of the action of the balls he shoots and scores.

How cool is that??!!

Both the pictures and the elbow rubbing/mutual brain picking re 9B and 3-cushion. I recently watch a posted Youtube clip of perhaps that very matchup with Efren. I think Efren came up short in both disciplines this time. My recollection is that Efren warmly and genuinely appreciated the 9B skills of Mr Blomdahl. Champions seem to appreciate champions. Maybe they played some chess too?

As others have stated-each plays a game with which I am not familiar.

Thanks for sharing a special experience.

Take care.

Hussa,

Blomdahl is really a phenomen- and like Manwon said-he s so absolutley serious and nice to everyone. But believe me- he really knows for sure on many systems :-) Long ago i met him while he was training alone and i asked him about a 3c system i was teached 1-2 weeks before. It was impressive-he just showed me what i was askin for, gave me some advices for it-and he saw immediatley what kind of mistake i was doing.

But he personally plays many, many things just out of his mind. Imo he has a brain and a fundus to recall pictures in his mind......that he really doesn t need to *count* with systems or so-but he knows for sure all about systems :-)

One of the nicest guys i met-and for sure one of the best overall-billiards-players this world has.
Those 30 minutes i ll never forget- very impressive- and he really doesnt underestimate any discipline in billiards. A bit like me- i love all kind of billiards, too. You can put a piece of each for you from every kind of billiards. Knowledge is the key :-)

Hats off for Blomdahl,

Ingo

PHHHTTTTT, shot is a hanger he had a big ball in the corner.:wink:

Seriously thats one of the best 3C shots I have seen in a long time. I saw one that I cant find GRRRRRR that was much more difficult thatn that, but i dont thinkit was in competition, it was a exibition type shot, it was a times shot that went 9 rails,

was it blomdhal? i have seen another shot that is even more disgusting that this. it might be the one you are thinking of.

a friend of mine thought the same thing, but i believe you are both wrong. it is much easier to play the 5+ rail natural pattern, than to try go thin off of two rails and sneak in behind to get the point. i'm not even sure if you could get short enough to make the point the other way. also from where blomdahl's cue and the red are makes for a pretty natural aim. the most amazing part is that he decided to shoot it in competition and nailed it.
I agree with you here. Blomdhal meant to shoot that shot exactly the way it turned out. He'd have to hit the red either extremely thin or extremely thick to make the point going only 1 or 2 rails. By going "around the table", he had a much bigger target to work with on the red, not to mention the yellow was a pretty "big ball" in that corner.
