OK guys here is the latest update....
I talked with the local owner today, I told him that I would rather have him replace the cloth with the same Tour Edition. He stated that he was trying to make me happy, and he thinks I will be happier with the Mercury. He also said he was trying to take care of me and that if I would like he can pickup the table and give me a refund. I mentioned that if the Tour Edition was a thinner cloth, couldn't a thicker cloth basically hide an underlying slate problem? He then said that he had already planned to replace the slate when he does the felt replace. I asked what level of slate he was replacing it with, he stated "that table is a Sheraton, it comes with Brazilian, and that he was replacing it with Italian". I agreed to his proposal. So, I am getting italian slate with the Mercury Ultra felt (which he stated does come in Camel). It seems funny to me that he was claiming that he didn't see any weird ball movement, but that he is going to replace the slate. Anyway, I know I am stepping down in cloth quality, but I am hoping the slate swap will fix the underlying issue. At least this way my local dealer is trying to fix the problem. If I am not happy with the results, then I will elevate it. Also, I figure the Italian slate is worth more than the Tour Edition felt, and I can always have Tour Edition or Simonis put on at a later date if this cloth starts to act up after wear.
Thanks for all your help, especially Glenn and Craig.
One quick question, how do I tell by looking at the slate if it is italian or not? Not that he would do it, but I want to be sure that he isn't just feeding me salesman BS and just puts brazilian on.
