Sigel and Jones will be on tonight on the Best Damn Sports Show period! I got this in my email:

SIGEL & JONES TO APPEAR ON FSN’S “BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD”
Pool Legends to Guest-Star on Popular Program on Wednesday Night

Los Angeles, CA. (Nov. 16th, 2005): Mike “The Mouth” Sigel and “The Queen of the Hill” Loree Jon Jones were rivals in the historic IPT World 8-Ball Championship at Mandalay Bay Casino Resort in Las Vegas. On Wednesday night,, Nov. 16th, they challenge each other again as guest-stars on Fox Sports Net’s “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” which airs at 10:30pm local across the country.

“Best Damn Sports Show Period,” hosted by Chris Rose, Rob Dibble and Rodney Peete, is seen in over 80 million homes across the U.S.. Pool legends Sigel and Jones will appear on Wednesday’s program and talk about the IPT World 8-Ball Championship, which is considered to be the biggest event in recent pool history. The event featured the biggest prize money in the game’s history and attracted a bevy of celebrities including stars from “The Sopranos,” “West Wing” and many others.

The premiere broadcast of the World 8-Ball Championship will be on a special edition of FSN’s “Best Damn” show on Thursday, Nov. 17th. It is one of the few pool events in recent history to be accorded major prime-time status on a national network.

The appearance of Sigel and Jones on Wednesday’s “Best Damn” program on FSN is part of a global PR and marketing plan that the International Pool Tour has initiated which will create huge interest and awareness in the sport of 8-Ball and in IPT events and tv programs worldwide. “It’s a new day and a new beginning for this great game,” said Sigel. “Pool has never received this much attention and there’s never been this much excitement. The IPT is taking this sport- and the entire pool industry- to a whole new level.”

Also, don't forget to watch Sigel and Jones go at it tomorrow on FSN. My network is showing from 10PM to 12AM (EST) even though the advertisement shows 10:30.

So the actual match will be shown tomorrow, correct? Today is just talking, right?

Sorry, I'm a man that likes his meat-and-potatoes rather than the appetizers... :)

I hope they'll be showing it at ABC (I don't have cable).

Lets hope they really talk about the tour and the upcoming KOH and not just some 5 min. trick shot exhibition, not that there's anything wrong with that, just tired of pool players always being asked to do trick shots every time on TV:D

If your in the Philly area it looks like it's on CSN at 11:00.

I can't find it, what is fsn? I even searched for Best Damn Sports Show Period, and it's not there. Help!!!

Yeah, just a two minute version of ball breakers. Erase the tape. That whole show is a joke. Sports, bah.

Try Fox Sports Arizona or something like that. Just about all of them are regional now. Locally, mine is Fox Sports Pittsburgh.

I don't like the show to begin with. Sat thru 30 minutes of it to see them make pool a joke. They showed about 3 minutes total. Mike and Loree said a few word and then they did a scotch double thing shooting in anyball for 2 minutes. The end.

The program on Thurs is supposed to be live?? I see here it will come on at midnight (Friday morning). Why? It is being prempted by a hockey game.

Is this the same match that was already played or a new one?

is there someone willing to recorded it for me and il'l pay for the tape :P Or if someone know how to Transfer it over Computer that would be GREAT !

We don't have FOX Sport in my area :( CHOUUUUUU

I gotta agree, the whole thing was a joke. Got home after a match, butt draggin' from the flu, got all settled in for a 3 minute spot?! Very disappointing, to say the least.

It's the same match, not a new one. Although the show last night wished Mike and Loree "Good Luck" for their big match, it's recorded from their match that was played back in June (or July?). Anyway, I think they said that as to not give away who won to those nonpool playing viewers who may be interested.

A 3-minute promo is good news.

How many 3 minute promos have you seen for other upcoming pool shows?

My guess is that the programming may not be to the pool fanatic's liking, but keep in mind that this is an attempt to gain good ratings. The better the ratings, the lower the cost to put this content on air, the better the chance other networks will consider broadcasting at better time slots, lower fees, or perhaps even paying for the content.

Well, I watched it and was pretty disappointed in the time allotted and the whole "speed pool" deal...but any promotion is good promotion for the game, I guess.

Still, 3 min of taped exerpts of great shots by both w/ voice over interview/explanation would've been better, more compelling TV.

I'll watch tonight even though we all know the outcome.

Having the attitude of "any promotion is good promotion" is not a good approach. In my opinion, if you want to promote something correctly, you need to "accent the positives & hide the negatives", to quote Paul Heyman formerly of ECW.

Honestly, I smiled & snickered when I saw the beginning of what the "IPT promotional" was. That whole "speed pool" thing or whatever they labeled it was a joke. I turned it off after approximately half a minute when I saw what they had going on. In my opinion, there was no hiding of any negatives during that stupidity that was airing on FSN; it made the game of pool look negative.

If Fox Sports had wanted to promote the IPT match in a better fashion, they should have at least given some decent interview time to the two players. Instead, they put together something that was completely idiotic, made the players look less than intelligent & made the game itself look completely foolish.

The whole television spot was poorly handled. I have trouble classifying it as a "promo" of any sort as it was, in my opinion, a complete farce. I had a feeling that the "promo" would be rather lackluster & that's exactly how it turned out.
