Why would he need to play her games she doesnt play if he can beat her.

The reason everybody was dogging him is because he said he could beat her and then offered nonsense games.

As long as there are male chauvinists in the range of 30-40 Fargo points below her that believe they are supposed to win just because she has a vagina between her legs, she is pretty much duty-bound to take their money.

What I find extremely interesting (and extremely chauvinist) is the fact that this particular question only gets asked because she in fact, has a vagina between her legs. No one was questioning Chinakhov for playing Eric Durbin at Derby last year, even though Chinakhov is a dead nuts favorite playing any rotation game against Durbin.

In FACT, no one asks ANY male player why they are playing a sucker even.

I think what a lot of dudes asking that question won't admit, and in most cases are not aware of, is that they are just a wee bit salty that a woman is beating up on really good players gambling, and they want to see that "lil lady" get her comeuppance.

Something else that I find interesting... Roy was very clear in the commentary that Siming Chen doesn't gamble a whole lot. Which means that she's been beating Donny pure and simple on fundamentals and ability alone... From what I saw in the stream last night.... If that "lil lady" ever gets real comfortable gambling, and works on a little 3 cushion to improve her finesse kicking, you just might find that a lot of guys her same Fargorate might just get their heads beat in...

Why would she?
I don’t think she’s on a mission to prove to a certain sector that women can play.....
....and if you take enough even up gambles...expenses gets the dough.

Durban was getting weight when he played Ruslan. If I am not mistaken he was getting the 7 playing 10 ball.

Ive never said she would lose because she is female. I simply don’t think she plays as good as the other players at her rating. Obviously I’m not the only one or these guys rated well below her wouldn’t be playing her.
Do you think Donny or Wilkie played because she is female? They played because they think they can win.

And is the person giving weight (unless a stone cold sucker), not generally the prohibitive favorite when giving weight? And I watched that matchup for a fair few hours last year.. And Durbin was most assuredly the sucker in that matchup. And no one was questioning Chinakhov why he was playing Durbin.

I understand that she doesn’t have to. I understand about the expenses but don’t we read on here everyday about people who won’t play unless they have a lock? I’m not saying that she wouldn’t because I don’t know her. However if you only play people you are supposed to beat that’s not really gambling. If I played someone I was supposed to be a 88% favorite to beat I would be accused of stealing. Unfortunately I don’t know anybody that I’m that big of a favorite against. Maybe that’s why I don’t gamble anymore. When I did gamble I played a lot of games that I knew I had to play my best to even have a chance.

I think it is time for a little review

Just over a year ago, prompted by Rhea posting a FargoRate top 100 list and pointing out Siming's position, Donny posted that he knows a guy who won the lottery, etc and invited someone to get this "free money."

In the same thread Chris Bartram, responding to me, said,
"You really don't believe she plays close to Donny's level?"

and also in the same thread, Justin Bergman said,
"I think Fargo is better than any other handicap system, but sometimes it just seems so far off [...] I think Donny would win easily by 20-30 games in a race to 100 against Siming Chen playing 9 or 10 Ball..."

and Donny replied to Justin,

"This is exactly right!!! This is music to my ears! Finally I read something in this thread that makes sense! For all you people on this forum that aren't sure what's accurate or not. This is accurate."

Now, these are not AZB keyboard warriors. These are three of the most widely respected people there are for this business of clocking speed and making games. So this is significant that all three seem to agree that Donny is a clear favorite. I even get a sense they think it is silly or naive to suggest otherwise. Justin's 25 games in a race to 100 suggests he thinks Siming is 40+ points below Donny.

Clearly anything can happen tomorrow. But at this point Siming and Donny have played 68 games and the score is Siming 36 Donny 31. And I note that this is only one game off from the most likely score based on their ratings.

I was thinking they came out even after it was all said and done. Correct me if I’m wrong. I was only pointing it out because you didn’t mention it. Durbin would most certainly be crazy to play Ruslan even.

Chinakhov won every set I witnessed. The game may have been adjusted enough that Durbin got even later, but after being up significantly, one would have to attribute that to the better player pressing to win the maximum.

I think they played on 2 different occasions and ended up even or close to it. I’m sure someone can clarify one way or the other. I don’t think the weight ever changed. Again I could be wrong.

To be fair 36-31 score is based off of shorter races. Race to 100 could very well be a different story.

Because the underlying theme is the question of whether Fargo is accurate across genders. This is the men versus women challenge for all to see.

There should be no complaint about this matchup. If she wants to match up against players with the same Fargo rate after this, more power to her. But this matchup, a long multi-set race, is needed to show whether or not Fargo is accurate, and whether or not the top rated female on the planet deserves such a higher rating.
 
As close as it gets

I have to admit that I thought Donnie would win by a pretty good margin.
I believe that she is closer to top men players than any before her,
including Jean and Karen. I still believe that the best man will always beat
the best women no matter what the game or sport. It's not a male ego
thing, it's just the way it has always been . Like that saying, the winner
is not always the strongest or fastest, but that's how you bet. What I
don't understand is why some people (mostly men) are dying for a woman
to beat the top men at any sport. Unless my money is on one I don't care
who wins. She is still young and will improve, and if she keeps mixing it up
with the big boys she could make history. As far as playing men that have
a Fargo ranking closer hers, if it's a money thing, then don't play. If she
wants to be known as the best ever, move up. I don't think it's a money
thing, I think it's like a young boxer, don't throw them in until they are
ready. You don't want her to get steamrolled, no matter what anyone
says it's hard to get over. Years ago Buddy tore the heart out of a lot of
young champions. I have to eat a little crow, but it's not that bad as I
have eaten it before.
