I'm aware of all the changes Simonis has made since when I first started using it back in 1984...which would put you at about 14-15 years old at the time, and that's back before there even was an 860 Simonis. So, other than Simonis's 860Hr at the time they introduced that, which was a thicker weave of the 760 70%wool/30%nylon but was promoted as a humidity resistant cloth, until the newer 860HR.."high resistant" used today, Simonis has not changed the building blocks of the 860 Green since they first introduced it as a 90%wool/10%nylon weave. So, needless to say, I'm a little lost at your dislike of the 860 Green Simonis today as if Simonis has changed it in some way, because it's not been changed other than what I have described.
Maybe the change has been in the balls, or maybe you're just getting senile in your old age

thanks for the complement but I was 18 back then, i'm older than I look most of the time. I played for 3 years before the Simonis invasion it was all 760(I remember that as well), I remember when no pool rooms had it and within a year they all did, I remember that like yesterday, hell I could name off the order the rooms switched over to Simonis,
I know they havent changed the blend of 90/10 or the weave, what thay have done in the last few years is they are cutting more nap off, which speeds up the cloth and is causing more skids and ball jumps than ever, their older product didnt do this. period.
I will email you a pic that John Broomback took of me bakining a ball the shot was staged, he accidentally shot the picture BEFORE either ball hit the cushon, I didnt shoot hard or intend to make the ball as it was just staged, the balls jumped, he caught it-you wont believe it, when I show you inperson how soft I hit the ball its even more amazing. it had the energy to climb up on the ball, the table wasnt clean nor dirty, perhaps 3 hours play time.
Botton line is they had it right and in a effort to make it better(or cheaper) they managed to screw it up. I was just playing on a table thats had some use that has Simonis from around 2000 on it, it looked EXACTLY like the 860 I had put on my GC4(the box you moved to Co), when I moved it from my other house to the current house When they took it down I told them to keep the old cloth as part of the moving $$$, I wish I had it to show you, you would see that the "Fuzz" above the weave it longer/thicker. Its not like that now and thats ok, if It didnt skid constantly.
There is alot more I would like to say about this but cant because of business reasons etc. lets just say I'm not alone in my opinion here.
