Simple question...I hope

At the room I play at, there seems to be a recurring problem.
The cloth seems to loosen up on the tables that have been re-covered after a couple of months.
Now, I figure it's a case of the cloth not being pulled tight enough upon installation.
It is Simonis 860.

Here are a few pics...

Am I correct in thinking this? Could this be remedied by re-pulling the cloth to tighten it up, or is a new installation required?

The tables never seem to play as quick as I think they should after a new cloth is installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tanx!!

Simonis will loosen after a little while if it is always being wiped down with a wet cloth to clean it. I always recommend vacuuming instead. In your pictures, the cloth is way too loose in the pockets. It doesn't look like it was installed properly. I would call someone out to restretch it.

That would be the best, but the only person that does pool table work in the area is the guy that originally installed the cloth.

No offense intended, but if the cloth is in that bad of condition, and the owner of the joint hasn't noticed - or hasn't fixed it yet - then he/she is just as much of a putz as the knucklehead that installed it.

Under typical conditions, no cloth should loosen up that much...clearly it was a substandard install. I would require the original mechanic to restretch or replace the the cloth. And supervise the work.

That...I agree with 100%;)

I would have to say it is substandard, even the folds in the side pockets look loose.
The spillage combined with the humidity wouldn't help either. I have an occasional callback here in the northeast with loose simonis but have never seen it that bad.

The place that I play at has a few things in the same building owned by the same person.
There is a bar/nightclub/pool hall, a Greco's pizza, Captain Sub, Pronto convenience store, laundrymat, and Thrift Lodge hotel. All are separated, but in the same building.

They are located a 5 minute walk from CFB Petawawa.

I wish I had more knowlege on installing cloth etc, I would attempt the job myself.
The installer has been told that the cloth is not pulled tight enough upon installation, and his excuse is he doesn't have the strength to pull it any tighter.
The owner of the place is more interested in rolling in the cash than upkeeping the tables I think.
Last year he soaked a 15 team 8-ball league $6,000 for the season in table fees.

Get a helper or get out of the business? That's like paying someone to paint your portrait and when it's done and doesn't look anything like you the artist says "sorry, I'm blind".

Why don't you do it yourself? With a little help from this forum I'm sure you could. Can't get any worse can it?

I was kinda hoping I could get a little help here. I would love to learn how to do it, and do it RIGHT.
