Skip & Jan's Billiards is getting all the 9ft's rebuilt.

I would say every room on that list needs help, besides Lizard Acres because I have not been there but Main St. is terrible and they really need to atleast upgrade the Gandys to Gold Crowns. Bullshooters tables do not play great at all even the house pro tables that are setup for Tres and Terry, they might have good cloth and some might even roll true but they do not play correctly. The problem is that most of the tables have been worked on by the same person known (formerly) as the top dog.

I have played in all the rooms on the list besides LA and will say Kolby's even though they are not great play better then majority of the rooms on the list and that is why players travel from the West Side to play there. The rails are not like pinball machines and the pockets are not 5 inches wide, so you need to pocket balls well and have a stroke to get around. I still think the tables in every room in the valley are in need of help, but this is probably like most places in the country.

Agreed... Bullshooters' tables are far from being in good shape.

I agree with you totally. I am able and willing to help the room owners out with that if they are willing to put up some cash to get their tables fixed up to today's playing standard.

Oh and as for the bar boxes, they are terrible and I think they should be sold off and get some Diamonds in there but we are talking in a perfect world where I would be driving a Ferrari. :grin-square:

I am just curious if the investment of say 15 Diamond bar tables would be worthwhile since a good deal of rec players go in there to hit balls around on them. I am not sure many serious players will appreciate them there but I know I for one will appreciate those 9 footers and when I get a late night urge to hit some balls I will swing by there once a week. Glad to see this room getting freshened up.

Lenny...you might want to start asking where the keys to that Farrari is, because the 12 Diamond 7ft New production bar tables are IN the works. Going to try and get them in place before Christmas....depending on production times.;)

Just wondering if AZ members have been noticing the quality work being done by the table mechanics being posted here in the main forum by mechanics like Zach..aka Reverend, Bob...aka The Turk,...Jack...aka JZMechanics and every one else that has been making an attempt to show AZ members what good table mechanics looks like so that when you need some work done...you'll at least check out the "Talk to a Mechanic" section right here on AZBilliards...before you decide on having the work done?

Well as of a couple days ago, half of the 9 footers are done. I have the final diamond to finish up and then on to the Gold Crowns. I am heading to Austin, Texas tomorrow Tuesday afternoon to swap out a broken Diamond 9' one piece slate then I will be back in town to finish up the last Diamond.

Zach, I have passed your name and number on to a few rooms owners, and plan to do even more shortly.

I've listened to many on their gripes with the 'other guys' and I informed them that you need to be their new mechanic.

I've also heard from a few people that only have Valley bar boxes, but they definitely need work too. Is this something you are interested in as well? Either way, I'll just pass on your info and you can take from there.
