Why do posters have to hit "reply with quote" when someone starts a thread with a bushel basket load of pictures.
Now in order to read the thread you have to scroll through the same pictures 20 times and a 5 reply thread ends up being 20 pages long. (I may have over emphasized in the last sentence a bit but you get the "picture"....no pun intended.)

STOP IT!

crabby old guy

I absolutely agree. It's wasteful, redundant, unnecessary and a PITA.
It's not done by accident. Those who indulge in the practice must want some of the credit.
IMO, THEY are wasteful, redundant, unnecessary and a PITA. I stand by my opinion.

You are correct as you were months ago when you posted about it. But it's AZ. Nuff said. Lol

I'm not quite clear on your point......so you're saying it's wasteful, redundant, unnecessary and a PITA?
;)

Unless you'd prefer I state it differently. However, it will only get more direct.

There's an old adage that states ; "Sometimes you gotta break some eggs".
Me, I like making omelets. Lol

I have always wondered the same. It is so easy to just Highlight the statement that you want to Quote, and use the Quote function at the top, or just learn to drop the copied quote between the typed brackets, that you can actually learn to use, without too much grief. Like I did with Dave's, "Stop It.

It is like basic HTML Programming, 101.

It looks like this without the space on the second typed Quote.

Stop It![/ quote]

If one feels the need to get real Fancy Schmancy, you can also change the Color and Font of the words.

Forget it Kelly. Some people just can't help but show their ass.
It must be in their genes or the way they were raised.
Cute is as cute does. Or was that 'stupid' ?

Kelly and yourself already know this. You can learn a lot about someone by reading their post history. Just sayin

I've been on fofurms that take out photos automatically on a reply (I think they replace the photo with a link). That would be a useful feature.

I've also been on a forum that used to have quote police who would edit posts (and warn posters) that quote 10000 word posts to make a quick comment. This is probably not acheiavle on this forum given small number of moderators.

Also, many posters are not aware of or care about netiquette. They just like to post.

How sad that everyone felt this was an opportunity to exercise their incredibly weak stand-up comedy skills instead of giving you the simple answer.

People would rather curse the darkness than turn on a light.

Go to your User CP, and then click on Edit Option in the left panel. Then scroll down to the section titled Thread Display Options. Uncheck the box that says Show Images (including attached images and images in code).

Now instead of the pictures you will just get the link to the pictures. Problem solved.

If you do not want to see the picture, scroll on by - if you do, click on the link.
