So I live in a shoe box sized apartment in Brooklyn, NY. So I certainly do not have room for a 9' table... but I really wish I had some sort of solution for pocketing balls in my home. So I was thinking (not always a good thing), when I was at the Valley Forge Super Billiards Expo, some of the booths had these tables that were about 2'x6' with two pockets. Was wondering where I could find one of these?

Another thought I had was finding a cheaper table on ebay or craigslist and just cutting it in half.... but if I could find a small solution, it would be better than trying to make something myself.

Any suggestions?
 
I would try to squeeze a 7 fter in there somehow. They can be found pretty cheap $300- $500 on craigs list. Shove it into one corner use it for a desk/table and shoot short and long shots on it.
 
My suggestion

Support your local poolroom, go there to practice and play. Beside if you practice at home and don't support your local room it might go out of business. If it goes out of business you will have nowhere to play so there will be no need for you to have practiced at home. Hope this makes sense.

I don't know what your budget is like, if you're looking for a cheap used table or can spend more. Olhausen will build 6' tables made to order though. You'd have to call them for pricing though.

If I lived in anywhere else in the country, I would 100% agree with you... however, my pool room has a waiting list over an hour long. Besides that, Im two months away from becoming a father and my time free time will be limited but I need to keep pocketing balls.

Yea, I really with a 7'er was an option, but its really not. Ive got a small space in my kitchen where my 4'x4' kitchen table is. Im hoping to get rid of the table, find some sort of pool option and create a top to use as a dinner table.

I know, this is a pretty strange thing...
 
maybe I could get a bumper pool table and find a local table mechanic to install a pocket????
 
Make the 7fter work somehow, change diapers on it, fold clothes on it, whatever on it, just buy a good cover and it's the closest and easiest way to the real thing. You wont be able to practice anything on a bumper pool table (maybe jump shots)or any other rigged up table.
 
Small Table

My brother in law has an old bar box that is smaller than 7'. I'm not sure if it's 3X6 or what, but it's smaller than 7'. I think he wants like $350 for it but Omaha is a long way from NY.

Do what Willie did throw some potato's on the kitchen table and use the broom handle for a cue.



Even if you mount a table on a hinge to a thick sheet of plywood to the wall and fold it up when not in use you would never like its play or level.

Check with the landlord or other apts in the area se if they have a game room or a gym that not getting much use and see if you can talk them into a Diamond coin op table. Promote the quarter drop and low low lease rates $100 per month after 5 years its paid for. I'm sure yourself would put a $100 a month into it, If not you and your friends and other tennets would.

Imperial sells a 6 footer

Imperial Billiards still offers a 6 foot table, I believe. Call Blatt Billiards in NYC, they deal with Imperial, or go to their warehouse in Suffern, NY.

They had 1 piece Italian slate for them when I worked at Imperial. I assumed no Brazilian suppliers made that size since all their other slate was from Brazil. The warehouse for Imperial is close by in NJ, so they can get it quickly if they don't have one in stock.
