Since I just did the drig poll, I figured I would go the smoking route, I promis no more polls for along time.

I have never smoked anything ever once in my life, If I could I would smoke weed, It would probably be good for me but I hate smoke so much that I'll never do it, the Cigar image is cool as I'm a businessman(I know thats hard to believe) but I am. still no cigar for me, who the hell under 70 years old smokes a pipe with tabacco in it now days?

i lost my mom to smoking about 3 years ago, and I'm still not 2% over losing her, I might never be right because of that. If I was married and my wife started smoking anything I would file for divorce that day, I couldnt careless about the $$$ etc. I cant suffer the pain of losing anyone else to that. EVER. When I see friends smoke it hurts me, so there it is Fatboys Achelles heel.

I went through the hell of throat cancer 6 years ago due to second hand smoke, and I never smoked cigarettes. I wonder why people have such a fetish of putting those little white phalic symbols in their mouth ??

Perhaps they just need to get honest with themselves and come out
of the closet.

A cigarette smoker is a co*ksu*ker.

well.. at least your not militant about it.

I make my choices.... you make yours...Alot of things in this world have been linked to cancer. Your choice to blame cigarette smoke because you got cancer is weak.( you didn't even smoke) could it have been the asbestos in your school? or the DDT sprayed on you as a child? or the High fructose corn syrup you have been downing like water (or instead of water) every day of your life?

get real the chemical companies have killed more people with cancer than the tobacco companies ever did.

the truth is the truth even when you don't like it.

I smoke cigarettes if I die of lung cancer then ok maybe my smoking caused it. it was my choice.

lots of things cause cancer.... DIET POP causes cancer.. should we ban Tab? fake sugar causes cancer they call it equal because you have a 50/50 chance of surviving your coffee....

if you think tobacco is the only cancer causing agent being marketed to you on a daily basis you need to wake up.

TAP TAP TAP!

Thank you for answering that far better than I could have. I don't have the patience to deal with such ridiculous comments so well.

years of smoke filled pool rooms, AA meetings, and tiny auto dealership sales manager offices is where I have been. The doctors told me my cancer was commonly known as "the smokers cancer".

You are welcome to your opinion. You already know mine. I pray you don't find yourself spending a year hooked up to dilaudid while the chemo/radiation kills your testosterone just to have a chance of staying alive.

I may be militant, however you are selfish, self-centered with no regard for the lives of others.

I don't know about selfish... I cover alot of bases in my life... I feel bad that you had cancer. but that is NOT my fault I'd almost guarantee that I have never been within 1000 feet of you ever in my life. unless we passed by one another in an airport somewhere.

Be real man vast amounts of cancer causing agents have been in your presence or ingested by you in your lifetime.

picking on the fat kid in class is easy, but he might not have been the one who put the tack on your chair.

pointing your finger at me and yelling how I almost killed you doesn't look as impressive when your holding a big pile of lithium in your other hand just to make a phone call.

everything in our world causes cancer... that's just the truth.

You were not blamed for my cancer. However based on your posts here it is a safe bet that the ugly mental image I've created comparing a cigarette to a penis bothers you, and that is exactly what it is supposed to do.

Only a piece of &$%@ smoker would have the balls to tell someone who's lived thru hell with cancer... something like that. The doctor's told him that it was from being around smoke. Now, don't you feel like an idiot? If not, you should.

My Father died of lung cancer because he smoked his entire life. I used to smoke off & on in the military but I quit exactly 2 years ago this month for good. I always felt like a hypocrit when I smoked seeing how my Father died from it.

I smoked grass on and off for about 5 years, and smoked a pack and a half of cigs for about 4-5 years. Been clean of any smoke for 4+ years now. I'll dream that I smoked one and wake up feeling guilty.:D

I just lost my Uncle a year ago this past September to Emphysema. It pretty much took my Grandfather at the ripe age of 55 (he smoked for 43 years, and yea I know he started at 12). It wasnt the main cause as he had a heart attack but as much as he smoked (he chain smoked) for as long as he did DID have its affects. He was only a few years away from seeing his baby have Grandchildren. Never got to meet him and wont until I meet the man upstairs (after I meet my Grandfather of course).

My other Grandad chain smoked after having his second stroke. He retired and sat at home and probably smoked 3-4 packs a day. He was 71, but could have lived longer if it wasnt for cigs.

My father is just like him, and smokes atleast 2 packs a day and around me. I have a condition that is supposed to keep me away from smoke or chemicals, but he doesnt care. It will catch up to him too one of these days sadly.

I agree that the smokers shouldnt have jumped on the dude with cancer, but of course he shouldnt have called all of us c*cks*ckers either. Some of us was young and picked up the habit not knowing what it would cause and some did. Some smartened up and quit and some didnt. I crave them but I'll never want another one.

You don't know it was caused by smoke, and neither does he. doctors give you believable excuses so they don't get sued.

is smoking bad for you? YES

is smoking the only thing thats bad for you? NOT EVEN CLOSE

lots of people go through nasty shit in their life. some need to blame something.

live in the midwest in the 50's and get sprayed with DDT daily

Live in the west in the late 50's early 60's get nuclear fallout

go to school from 1950 to 1995 and get hazardous asbestos exposure

live in a reasonable home from 1940 through 1995 and live with lead paint

what if he was a coal miner? plenty of non smoking coal miners have died from cancer due to the job.

everyone has somebody who died that changed their life including me... some need to blame something.

others just realize that life is like that. people die and its not always fair... its just life...

your losses are not my fault.

I think there are 23 states with anti-smoking laws now. I feel that it's a governmental infringement on private rights, but so are seat belt and helmet laws. I must also say that I don't smoke, and a smoke free pool hall is SOOOOO much nicer! :)

If smoking caused cancer then eveybody that smoke would have cancer.. and we all that isnt the case...

It does increase your chances.. however you must have some genitic pre dispostion to the cancer gene or else nothing happens.

My Grand father died a few years ago.. a smoker for 70 years solid.. everyday...not a trace of cancer in his body..there are millions of other just like him.

Listen idiot, no where in my post did I say I blamed you or anyone else for my father dying. It was his own fault for smoking his entire life. Play with fire... you know the rest.

And Smokey, it's a fact that 1 in 2 lifetime smokers die from a smoking related illness. Look it up. You've been smoking 1 too many pancaks or the avatar jealousy has really began to cloud your judgement. You should really look into buying that membership before you start to sound as bad as softshot.

so somebody who smokes all his life, gets lung cancer because the smoking dramatically increased his chances of getting it, but smoking DOESN'T cause cancer? to argue that is merely arguing with semantics. it's a tube full of shite that's on fire being sucked into your body. even if the smoking/cancer connection wasn't already well documented, it surely stands to reason.

btw why is this thread seperate from drugs? is tobacco not a drug? this is one of my problems with the whole issue. why is tobacco legal and cocaine not? what's the difference? legalise everything or ban tocacco. the current half-way house doesn't make any sense. it just stays as it is because we're used to it for so many years. in the case of cigarettes in society, time breeds moral apathy. we just don't care about it any more because it's become so ingrained in us.

That could eaisly be looked as 1 in 2 smokers never die from smoking..
just saying..............even more survive when you toss out the "lifetime" caveat

BTW.. I dont smoke..........anything
