Who do you think will win the "2008 888.com World Championship?"

By visiting this link http://ep.laboremus.no/registration.asp?comp=2008 you can try to predict the winners of all the matches at the World Snooker Championship, from the first round to the final!

Registrations are free, and first prize is the acknowledgement of being the best to predict the World Championship ;)

It's our fellow AZB'er "Nostra" who has created the site, and he is running this contest for the 13th or 14th year in a row. 1200+ people tried to predict the outcome in 2000, but the average the last 5 years has been around 650.

If you are interested in snooker, the website www.snooker.org is also worth a visit.

EDIT: The World Snooker Championship starts 19th of April and ends 5th of May. The competition ends 19th of April.

I made my prediction... i havent been folowing snooker closely since i started taking up pool 3 years ago, but i hope ive got some right.
The only question will be:
will ronnie take it seriously this time, or will his mental problems take him down again. I'm also curious how ding will do..

Selby vs ronnie in the finals :D

This is awesome. I just made my picks and it started off fairly easy to predict. Once I got passed the 2nd round it started getting hard, as with pool players when you are at a certain level like Hendry, Davis and O'Sullivan anyone could win on a given day. Anyway thanks for posting this Rep rocket inbound

I ended up with O'Sullivan / Ding in the semifinal, and selected Ding to meet Selby in the final... Hope I am wrong, would love to see Selby - O'Sullivan in the final.

Ding doesn't have the moxy for a word title

Sullivan wins without trying if his head is clear of demons, otherwise, I think a repeat of last year's finals would be tremendous

I'm rooting for Hendry also

From what I've seen, the quality of play is off a bit this season.

Selby seems to be the one playing at the highest level.

Shaun Murphy develops a brain cramp at the most inopportune times. Hendry hasn't been making the long balls. O'Sullivan doesn't have his mind fully on the game. Ding has all the tools except a killer instinct.

And there are more who inexplicably have been also rans.

Mark Allen is from my neck of the woods and he will be one to watch, I think he will take out Hendry in the 1st round.

Just did it, I got Maguire beating Higgins in the final with Selby and Ronnie losing in the semis. 3 Chinese players this year and they all play jam up. Of course there is 4 Irish players but thats because we rule at this game!! Robertson is for sure the dark horse.

In addition to the points and the pride of being number one on the list, the winner will also receive an autographed cue, personally signed by many of the world's top players, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White
