Yep, burrrrrrr.
In the burbs of Chicago 50's there was this Catholic all male school that built thee best toboggan run I've ever seen/did.
On a nice 20 degree hill they cut down between the trees a 3' gully that ran about 150feet straight down to flat grass and over a frozen mud creek.
It had a stop/catch plate at the top to get on and load up.
Then let er rip....
You could get a 6 man toboggan really rolling with it full of kids probably, 50-60 mph also, they had built in wooden walk ups steps to do it a again, Us kids thought it was a weird school, only boys/no girls, and they could lie and be rebooted on Sundays.
I got so scared on one of those as a child I recall bailing. Jumped off and broke 3 fingers and knocked the wind out of me for a week!!😭 Shoulda rode it out, but the damn thing was going too fast for an 8 year old me. 😂

January has been brutal so far here in the mountains of NC with no letup in sight! Right now staying safe and warm is taking precedence over playing pool.

Afriend of mine from here in Birmingham moved to Boone 20 years oir so ago.
He now lives in Hendersonville. He said damage in NW NC was extensive.
His nam, is James T. Browne and he has a ban called "Lazybirds".
You may have heard of the band, they been around a while.
Anyway, I wish the best for all y'all up there.

Well if your bored do a Google search for Lewistown Mt weather , they received just over 2' of snow during 20 - 30 + mph winds .
They have snow birms of 10'+ all over town and can't find places to hide it all .

I was there for about an hour and was thankful I had my old Toyota 4 Runner with mud and snow traction tires there were cars stuck in some intersections .

They've been cancelling pool leagues because there isn't any parking that wouldn't be in the way of snow removal equipment .
So do you still want to live in Montana ha ha we've received snow during every month of the year somewhere in Montana ha ha

I have spent plenty of time I’m your state. I do believe you have it slightly worse than me.
But this morning it was so cold I saw a dog frozen to a hydrant.

Last Sunday afternoon -17° f windchill and my group spent 2 1/2 hours pheasant hunting. Had pheasant tortilla soup Monday night. Cooking off pheasant for my " Chinese Chicken " as I type.

Pheasant cooked in a little butter with seasalt, black pepper and garlic. Small red and yellow peppers diced up. Will stir chop with a wooden spatula until done. Refrigerate then finish chopping up before reheating with some BWW Azian Zing sauce cut with orange juice and honey. Served over steamed rice.
