Guess I phoned the wrong Fed Ex number because they couldn't help me or themselves.
But I finally got a message to the manager and she called me up.

She said we ( Fed Ex ) need them to come pick up some boxes, I said I don't give a shit if you come pick the boxes or not.
Big pause on her end of the phone call and she says why did you call us if you don't want your boxes shipped .
I said they are not my boxes I said they are yours .

I said your driver can not read for shit and they tossed these two boxes of in my front yard , Its not even the right street or even on this side of town.

Then I said if you don't hurry up and come get these boxes I am going to video these boxes and put it you tube and go hand deliver these packages myself.

The lady said she will have some one pick them up right away ...
I guess she wasn't kidding, fastest pick service ever the boxes are already gone .

Moral of this story is it only takes one clown to screw up many peoples efforts and make them everyone that works at Fed EX look like idiots too.

Also the thought of this happening to a cue I shipped or was shipped to me makes me want to teach someone how to read the hard way.

Everytime I ship or receive a cue I get so nervous you couldn't squeeze a pine needle up my ass.

I can't count the number of times the idiots from FEDEX and UPS have put something behind my screen door when I wasn't home. Or gave me something to give my neighbor without having me sign anything.

I know what you mean. UPS normally puts mine just inside the fence, (very reachable for thieves , about 100 ft. from house) but also has left it outside by the roadway! When I look at the delivery information it says the package was "left on front porch or at front door" and I did not sign for it.
My question is, what can we do about it, should something get stolen? Probably nothing, right?

Unless it is insured, you're toast. Always ship it somewhere that you know they'll be able to deliver to a person after 9:00 AM. I always have packages sent to my workplace.

I believe the shipper can specify that signature is required on deliveries.

Can specify none, as well.

I had a package delivered to my house from FedEx and it required a signature. I wasn't home so they left a big note on my front door, that I don't use, saying ," Your package is in the vehicle beside your house." I callus see the note from the street about 40 yards away. The car didn't run at the time and was being worked on, but man I was mad.

Hey all,I happen to be a UPS package truck driver so be careful what you say....JK.Just want to let you know that everytime a package is scanned,a satellite photo is taken and UPS knows exactly where it is.So if you make a claim to them that you did not receive your package they will start an investigation and go immediately to the photo. After that the driver will do a DFU(driver follow up)where he will go to the house where the package was delivered to talk with the homeowners about it.Basically making sure that they did not receive it and nobody around knows anything about it.Often times people come up with the package and often times they don't.If it is determined that the package got stolen and the house has a clean history, there is a chance that UPS will replace the item.If the house has a bad history(packages stolen before)there is a real good chance that the house will be placed on "signature required" premises, meaning that any package that is delivered to that house from UPS will be signed for and nothing less.If the homeowner leaves a note for the driver to leave it,then the driver will leave it and turn in the note.Hope this helps some understand how UPS goes about this sort of thing.

We just mailed some packages via Fed-X and they charge an extra $4 for signature required. Don't know about UPS.

UPS and USPS charge for signature. It is an available option. My biggest issue with the PO would be honoring a claim.

USPS if the package is insured for 200.00 plus then a signature is required.
and buying signature option is a total waist of money, if the package is going to be insured .

Something I've never got anyone here to confirm, one way or the other, is whether insuring a custom cue was of any importance. It's my gut feeling that should a shipper lose or damage a one of a kind cue that may have cost the customer $5-10K to purchase, it might prove extremely difficult to get the shipper to cover, regardless of any insured amount.

I know that this may be digressing a little from the original post, but insurance always gets brought up. If it is a $500.00 cue for which the buyer has purchased insurance, then you might expect the shipper to pay out. It probably would be an entirely different situation on a high end custom for which there is little or nothing to compare it too.

Hey Brownie, just to clarify the satellite thing. So what you are saying is package will be scanned at that specific address just before placement - door, porch, bushes lol etc? And as soon as scanned it records exact GPS coordinates? I'm assuming you don't mean that an actual picture is taken of the UPS guy with package in hand in front of the house lol?

This happens allot when you are shipping over seas, the customers don't want to pay import fees so they don't have the package insured for over 200.00 bucks .
This a disaster if the transaction is done by credit card or Pay pal and somethings happens to the package in shipping..

When this type of transaction happens I tell the customer to send money western union and the customers has to trust I am a honest person ................................
