So Skyler got drug tested immediately after losing to Oi???

Probably so, but they also have drugs on there that really don't do anything to enhance performance but are common medications subscribed by GP's and Internal Medicine docs for high blood pressure. Atenolol and Metoprolol. I know some
individuals who take the drugs and it does nothing in the way of reactions to them.

Atenolol is a beta blocker medicine, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia). If you have high blood pressure, taking atenolol helps prevent future heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. It can also be used to prevent chest pain caused by angina.
Metoprolol is worded the same way.

So, if a doctor prescribes either one of those two common drugs for an ongoing blood pressure problem, these dipshits and their rules get to say, you're disqualified, can't play, or the money you earned in the tournament is rescinded?
i think i even say some asthma drugs on there

what advantage does a player who smoked a joint have? Performance enhancing in pool, come on. This aint cycling.
Weed is the quintessential man eating plant. Makes everything feel like the most important thing right now. It has society jumping through hoops to keep it alive. It also makes all these mellow heads arrogant when challenged. The word hashish is from hashishin - Arabic for assassin or at least the cult of murderers that loaded up on hash to do their dastardly deeds.

It's gotten so weed is part of the enjoyment interface. Players claim to see everything in vivid detail. Speed control resonates through your psyche. Pool becomes a religious experience.
Same thing happens with musicians. Sex addicts, PHD candidates, truck drivers, you know, all of society...
Everybody gets the same ten minute ride then it's more weed or they go stale.

Wuwuz the question?

They are way out of line with this list. I think if a player does take a drug prescribed by a Dr. for whatever problem he has that is on the list and then gets tested with a positive for being in his system, they should double dare the organization to withhold the earnings from the tournament and sue their asses for 10 to 100 times the amount. A good attorney should turn it into a
no-brainer and rake them over the coals.

The problem is some countries classify healing herbs or medicines as all natural. Then there are synthetic drugs.

WADA needs evidence based patient centered policies regarding its anti doping policies. Drug delivery has advanced leap years due to concentration measurement improvement in liquids.

WADA should support the research the has been made since their ban on healing or rehab medicine.

Can you imagine the Chess Federation banning players for taking blood thinners or cholesterol medication. Cancer survivors have a drug of choice and its THC.

THC has the fewest overprescribed deaths of all schedule 1 drugs. Compared to pharmas track record on overdoses as seen in hospital er visits.

Parents wont have to worry about a pill overdose or harmful drug cocktail. THC is the healing carb.

THC is healthier for everyone.

Than? Weed is making legislative decisions. Notice how everyone is ecstatic over their new laws.

Its a global effort. If they make a supply chain from solar cells, digital photosynthesis and thc.

Any country could lead a tech revolution and change their economy? Pool players are needed to get in to those bars and serve as a emissary of sorts.

Any news is good news. The debate draws more people than the line to tow.

In thinking more about this.
Was watching em play one match, and interacting a few times with the referee/woman/young nice looking slim.
They did eye contact at times with smiles/expressions.
My thinking is because of this, he was tested because he was happy? and so they might of thought he was on something.
Wonder if he was tested for his testosterone level. :)

Was also thinking about the person that decided to test him.
Was he wanting to get close to that Ref Woman Also?

it's random

I've read this entire thread, and I guess I must have missed it. Sky was drug-tested. Okay. Did he pass the test?
I’m assuming it gets sent to a lab and Sky would not know for a week or more. If it’s positive I’d assume the results will go directly to the WPA, not Sky.

i dont even watch much pool anymore. i havent since ESPN quit televising matches. we have great players around here and i go watch or play against them.

For a while beta blockers were rumored to be the PED of choice on the PGA Tour. They didn’t test then. I don’t know how much they helped - steadiness/ calming on putts was the idea IIRC. The IOC WADA testing stuff is detailed and harsh. I never thought the pool in the Olympics idea was very realistic, but here we are. None of the advantages but some of the disadvantages. Competitors have to expect this.

Having never been interested in drugs, I can't answer that with any first hand knowledge. But I do know that BITD many times whenever I'd string a few racks on my opponent, he'd excuse himself to go out in the parking lot for a "tune-up". I never noticed that it made him pick up his game, even if he might have thought it did.

But the real "performance enhancing" drug of choice back then wasn't marijuana, it was speed pills, which didn't really "enhance" performance in the sense that it enabled users to raise their game to new levels, but it did often enable them simply to stay awake and somewhat alert during marathon gambling sessions that would last for 24 hours or more. It didn't make them any better, but it did stop them from getting "worse". Call it addition by no subtraction.

It's like greenies in baseball. They "enhance" performance in that after a long night game and a plane ride, they might help a player get back onto the field the next day, which at best makes them more "performance restoring" than "performance enhancing". A well rested player in any sport doesn't need greenies to "enhance" his performance.

Seems to me that the real reason for drug testing in Big Time pool tournaments is PR, and it's understandable. No tournament director wants to see one of his star performers walking around stoned.

Banned for something that is legal in a vast number of places (and probably negatively impacts performance), and something that is prescribed... What a joke lol
they know going in what's banned so why is it a joke??? the joke is some of these guys are too stupid to live. whether or not a given substance is/isn't legal in various locales means nada. the organization has its policies and only an idiot doesn't take the the time to read/follow them.

From watching cycling, I learned a lot about the process just from all the situations that came up. Seems like if only 4 of 16 people are tested at the event, it's pretty tame compared to cycling. But riders are allowed to take prescription drugs, they just have to have their doctor send the prescription to WADA too.

One of the more intense things riders have to do is keep WADA updated with where they are, so that they can show up litterally at any time to test them. Might be during a funeral, party or athything else. Quite a few riders have been banned when their fans posted pictures of them on Facebook in cities they hadn't told WADA they would be in.

The question other players on the PGA Tour should be asking is who actually won a golf tournament while on a beta blocker (or other type drug) and was it a steady practice by the individual. Putts still have to be read correctly based on the amount of break, speed uphill, downhill, sidehill and how the grass is growing for the line of the putt. A lot of variables even with good nerves.

While prescription drugs can be a problem for tour pros because many are on the Tour's banned-substances list, the rules allow players to apply for a Therapeutic-Use Exemption (TUE) to use Adderall, Ritalin or other medications classed as Prohibited Substances. Jun 14, 2018

Is this also in pool or just a blanket BAN?

I follow golf pretty close and have never heard this about PGA golfers. Its possible a couple may have but never widespread. There WAS a big BB scandal on the snooker tour yrs back involving scattered usage. I've taken them before for heart/stress help and they do chill your ass down. Almost too much to be in a competitive state imo.

Yet they are allowed to drink during tournaments. Certainly preformance enhancing for some, to a point.
Only good players i've ever seen drink/play were Keith and Bobby Pickle. At DCC in '07 Pickle beat Efren on the tv table slamming Bud's the whole match. I've been at a ton of local-regional tourn's where guys might have a beer or two but rarely seen anyone actually drunk and play worth a damn. Seen a few catch a 'beer gear' but its rare.

What "may" be a benefit in the calming aspect when it kicks in, can turn into a negative when it starts wearing off if you're still competing. The jitters will start creeping in and it's something you don't want to have to deal with and try to control, because you won't unless popping another one.
