would you say they're too hard to play with? more just for breaking and jumping?
They play very well.
On some cues, they will play as well as alot of other softer tips.
Meaning the draw and english is just as good.I just scuff the tip with the willards shaper if it seems like the tip is not holding chalk. It does not need much, just enough to ruf the surface a little,to break up the glaze.
As well as being a good play tip, they also make for a great break and Jump tip.
The break, jump , and play tip all have a different radius or shape.
For the play tip I like a dime radius most of the time, but on some tables I shoot better with a nickel radius.
For the break tip, it is mostly flat with a small amount of radius on the outside.
For the jump tip, I am using about a 25c radius(1/4 $),although a friend likes to use a dime radius on his jump cue.
